Hardware conflicts? Nah... I'd recommend a p4 over an athlon, within the group of friends I hang with the few of us with p4's are running more stable machines. I run a p4 2.5ghz on a nice intel board and lotsa ram, with just an all around decent setup, I have had uptimes of more than 3 weeks, on the internet all the time... Your setup you listed before looks ok.. but you'll need a new power supply as well, the p4's use a 250watt or higher (i prefer 350-400), with a 12v plug otherwise it won't run..... i'm pretty sure the one that came with your p3 won't have that......
