You must must must must go to Sir John Soane's museum - it's free and totally fantastic. It's full of all kinds of architectural ephemera that Soane (architect of the Bank of England and much else) collected over his life, including a dead monk in the basement, and the complete cycle of Hogarth's Rake's Progress in a bizarre room with walls that turn inside out. It sounds mad and it is. And it's free. But get there early.
