I've gotta say, I've been to South Beach twice and it was nothing I expected. I expected nothing but ridiculous hype, breast implants, douchebags, and generally expected that I would feel really out of place.

Fortunately, it was nothing like that. I know there are parts of South Beach that are like that, but maybe we just magically avoided them.

I loved that it seemed like a melting pot of all classes and types of people. It's kind of like Chicago in a way in that respect. It was all very low-key, laid back, just overall really enjoyable. My girlfriend and I like clubs and stuff like that, but we're not really the type for velvet rope, wait in line, hotel club kind of stuff.

I've got to thank Calles for his suggestions the first time we went there. We met him at what is now probably our favorite bar away from Chicago, Purdy Lounge, which had such a great vibe and crowd. We've been both times we've been there on vacation.

    • yeah, I've heard that gay club is good...OSFA
