but if you stay in the bar make sure you know where your train is going...

last year myself and the girlfriend were on a train from Munich to Ljubljana and were pretty hammered after a day in the beer yards in Munich. We were getting the cheapest seats for the overnight journey - they were just seats at no extra cost on the pass.. We were having more beers on the train and then late in the night we decided to bunk into first class and take an empty cabin for maximum comfort. we continued the party in first class.

Anyway, we wake up in the morning, hungover to shit. We figured something was wrong by the look of the country side. The ticket lady came along and we were like "mmmm Ljubljana ???" and she basically walked backwards out of the cabin waving her hands - gesturing something like "woah, this is not my problem, see ya later"

We then realised that the train was actually pulling into BUDAPEST. different city, different country.

The train had split in the middle of the night with the two parts going in different directions......

    • it's true though, even when sober, the trains in Germany can be confusing and if you have eurorail, many times youneue75_bold
    • don't have a destination listed, so if you fuck up, generally you won't know until too late..neue75_bold
