  My opinion on all of this shit is that it's not fair to these players that they can't make any profit off their name. I don't think they should be paid by the NCAA or their colleges to play, but I find awfully fucking ironic that ESPN can drop Cam Newtown's name all season long in every single NCAA football commercial and profit off his name, but Cam Newton can't even get a fucking peanut without some stodgy, rich ass white dude getting a hard on about it. The situation is fucked, IMO.

  If it were up to me, I would institute a rule that allowed for sponsorships and endorsements, but no salary from the schools/conferences.
