I'd be deeply suspect of the solar-power aspect.
It'll add weight and I'm not sure how much actual functionality.
Nokia recently did a test proving that current solar tech was nigh on useless for most applications for their phones and, whlist I appreciate there's more area on the back of a laptop, the power drain is also larger.
Besides, leaving electronics in the blazing sun, if that's what creates the most energy, seems like a terrible idea.
imho, better get a non-solar one and buy her a plant or something, if it's her you're investing in the green aspect for.
