Didn't want to start a new thread.

Looking at buying my wife a new Macbook Pro. The baseline 2013 with Retina display retails here for $2499. I found a seller who was offering the same model - it had a few for sale with a 'make an offer' link.

So I made an offer about $600 lower than retail...and the guy said yes. Rang alarm bells straight away, so I contacted him and asked if I could pickup with COD. Again he said yes. Still supicious, I asked for some photos with the serial number. He sent them through. Checked the serial number on the Apple website and all checked out...still has about 11 months warranty.

Now my question is, how can this bloke sell them so cheaply other than them being 'hot'? And is there anything else I should be wary of? The box the laptop comes in is still in the plastic so it is brand new.

    • yeah, seems like it fell off the back of a truck. do people still say that?sine
