    Interesting, but the only thing we're destroying through consumption is the Earth's ability to support us. Loooooong before we can even assume our actions would destroy the planet, they would destroy our civilization and our species. The Earth will continue to spin and support life (in some form), regardless of what we do, as it's done for the last few billion years.
