kung fu is good for conditioning, reflexes, confidence and looking flashy but unless you spar, the techniques themselves are useless in a street fight. and seeing as how nobody is going to let you pull their arm off or punch them in the throat it's kind of a moot point. that's why i like bjj so much, it's pretty much all sparring so you know how it feels to jump on somebody and pull their limbs off. otherwise, you try to throw some fancy throat punch while getting swung on and wake up on the floor. not too practical in real conflicts
