    JW's do not apply sound hermeneutical principles in their study of the Bible. This is fundamentally the reason why they arrive at their errant interpretations and why they can read an Old Testament ceremonial regulation regarding ritualistic consumption of animal blood and somehow make a connection to the modern-day life-saving medical technique of blood transfusion. There was a time when they banned organ transplants as well. They lifted that ban many years later after receiving "new light" (and after untold numbers of people died on operating tables).

    JW's are not considered Christians by mainstream Christianity because they deviate from essential Biblical doctrines.
