So i checked out Lower Manhattan Development Corporation which i suppose is in charge of rebuilding Lower Manhattan (actually as most corporations they are in charge of getting rich, then also doing some stuff related to rebuilding and such).
...Anywa i can't belive what kind of shit was presented to them:
Lower Manhattan Development Corporation
Man with this kind of low quality work even i, someone who doesen't know much about architecture, could design something better that those poor moneymaking schemes.

Since it was called the WORLD Trade Center, this is the best idea i've seen so far and it should be getting more attention soon...

i love the work of Gaudi, a man & architecture ahead of his time. When in Barcelona, i was dazzled by the beauty and contemporanety of its work.
And I must say, sincerely it is more daring, interesting and focused than the (average) projects presented by great names like Libeskind, Eisenmann, Holl and Foster. With the exception of Unstudio.

they should get frank to do it.

I kind of like UA's proposal.
and not a fan of Gaudi's take on the WTC.

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation isn't a conventional corporation per se. It's a public agency run by the state of NY, so it's really just a branch of the ny government.
arr.

Nice design by Gaudi, but it HAS to be the tallest building in the world.

That Gaudi Proposal looks like an over-the-top futuristic SimCity building. I like Gaudi's other work but this is just crap.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again, if that 'Gaudi' rip off interpretation even got a slight chance of consideration, there would be a mass suicide in the architecture community, myself included. This is exactly why the 'public' do not make the decisions. Those that are knowledgable, educated, and informed should be, and mostly are, the ones making the decisions. Thank God.
You forget that there are parts of architecture that are fundamental to creating something good. It seems really hypocritical for people here to say, 'Yeah, I like that Gaudi rip-off (after all, the guy has been dead for a long time), but God forbid someone make a web site (which is a temporary thing with little to no significance to the world) that looks like 2 Advanced!"
I agree that the schemes were not great, but that one is horrible. Anyone consider the distance from the elevators to the windows? The penetration of light into the building? Safety and security? A big, fat building will not work as an office building.
Nobody thought of that, eh?

that gaudi design is like a giant dildo for christ himself.
oops.
did i say that outloud...?
ONLY kidding.
