guess who's working this weekend?
- popovich0
that was a bad joke. ha.
- Bio0
first of all, your link is broken.
i think you meant to link this: http://www.wital.net/
as yours
and http://www.swiss.com/
as theirs.just to make sure others can see what your talkin bout.
- mayo0
i'm getting a 404 on your logo
- popovich0
sorry, yes, Bio was right, it's http://www.wital.net.
- mayo0
thank you Salt Master
- Bio0
well, honestly, i don't get it.
if i saw the two of them side by side, i would think
"oh, the colors look the same"but i see no similarities to warrant the massive clusterfuck which seems to be occuring with your client.
it is obviously not a rip.
- popovich0
[i will first drink and smoke a lot tonight.... then tomorrow, when everyone of three managing directors calls me amd tells me what an ass I am, I will get to my pc and hang myself on the cord from my keyboard]
- mayo0
i agree. i kept refreshing each page to see if i was missing any similarities other than that particular shade of red.
- popovich0
see, this "clusterfuck" as you refer to it, is actually is already in my hands, my head, my lungs and my ass. My client are actually three persons and I am already waiting for the storm to come. I need a quick and effective solution.

swiss.com itseld is a bad example of branding, actually. see http://www.winkmedia.com for the Swiss Brand reference
- Bio0
is the color the oly real issue here? if so, then i dont see how anyone could have a problem with that.
the color would be the choice of the client.
the logotype is NOTHING the same as Swiss. hell, swiss looks ilke it is straight from the Swiss Font. yours is NOTHING similar.
what exactly is the problem then?
- popovich0
the problem is that if you see the two logos together - the wital one and the swiss brandmark directly from the winkmedia site, you will get what the client is talking about. I also think that these are two quite different logos. Now try to persuade my client in that....
- Bio0
man, i just went through that whole site showing the different uses of the swiss logo.
i am still not sure how anyone could connect the two EVEN IF they are side by side!
your logo has serifs, theirs is sans serif. they are roughly the same scale and use the same color red (or close). which is the only problem i see.
i am sorry i can't offer any solutions for you man. but honestly, it seems like it shouldnt even BE an issue.

tho I am afraid I have to say I think it was not a very wise idea_
If they are going to work closely and one would see a van driving with the logo on the side in the distance on the same airport where swiss vehicles move it might become confusing. A really good logo distinguishes itself by being reckognizble and unique from a far distance for someone with bad sight, dig? You should exagarate the use and visbility of the logo when you test it, a lot of designers tend to forget that. And for that matter: yeah, it loks a lot like SWISS be it that the text alignment is different (left/right) and that is one of the most significant differences that might even save your ass, I hope.
Furhtermore communication between client and designer is important to find out the puspose of the logo, it's usage, the environment it will be used in, maybe there were some miscommunications..which is unfortunate.
I wish you best of luck tho.

Swiss Intl. looks like a "positive"
Yours looks like a "negative"
Magnetically speaking... Those two work well together.
:)
- popovich0
even the scale is different. the swiss logo is exact square with no breaks and the brandmark is formed with two squares. wital logo is ONE broken square and is always used like this (on the left):
shit. change of color is th eonly quicl solution which will not delay printer from his work and might save my ass...
- popovich0
Gorbie, I am sorry, negative-positive equals good-bad or what?...
- Blofeldt0
Well, if it hasn't been printed yet you'll be ok. Spend the weekend working on it. It is different but if side by side it'll look like a subsiduary of Swiss Air. Maybe all that needs doing is change the shade of red.
Good luck
- Bio0
go green or blue then.
ditch the red and save your ass.
