hi, wondering if anyone has come across this. I seem to have two "users' folders on my hard drive and don't know how to get rid of one....
any help would be great.
thanx

But where are they? Obviously not in the same folder?

Had something like this happen to me and this worked
First figure out which one is the dupilcate then empty that folder of all information. Files, folders, etc.
Then go to get info for that users folder. Then --> Ownership & Permissions-->unlock the folder--> change the owner from "system" to either your user name or admin-->make sure access says "read and write"
it will ask for your admin password to make any of these changes. Then just delete the file.
if there are any files within the dup. user folder follow the same process as above.
i think there may be some apps that will do this for you also...may want to check versiontracker if this does not work

got it.. thanks again asujoe.
somehow had a duplicate of the clock app on the hard drive which must have been causing it, cause once i changed the ownership of that and deleted it the other User folder dissapeared.

bizarre
You really should be using the Users folder for ALL your work by the way... Put your stuff in Users > you, and put projects that others need access to in Users > Shared.
There are advantages in working this way, as thats where OSX is expecting your stuff to be when it comes to networking, backups and who knows what else..
