I went to London today. I took my gwife and child to Kings Cross and they have now gone on to 'grannies' up in Durham Dales. I planned to have an interesting time revisiting London as I haven't been there in leisure mode since I left in 04.
Thing is though I just walked around, utterly detached from a city I called home for 15 years. I walked from Kings Cross to Holborn, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Marylebone High Street to baker's Street, down Bakers Street across Oxfrod Street down the posh roads of Mayfair, past the US Embassy, across by St James and down to Victoria, then I just got on a train and came home. I was not inspired to do a single thing, nor go into a single shop.
- It seemed like a very depressing place to me.Horp
- What you were expecting? The thrill of the big city? Some melancholic tears?Fariska
- Something that made it a 'capital city'. It was Townsville, Anyplace, and it had a hangdog vibe.Horp
- Nice to see American Classics and Interstate still live on though.Horp
- how far do you live from there?********
- 60miles.Horp
- Where do you live now?
Did you grow up in London?NotByHand - wth? I thought you were going to get in contact before you popped up? *huff*Nairn

'Fringe', the sci-fi show, is shit.
This is probably an already well-known fact, but I was not aware.
This is the last ever time I trust P's opinion. A best friend is dead to me now - this is like the butane huff of sci-fi intoxication, and I want no more of it.
- what the hell are you saying.

And so is Scrubs. Here we go again. :)******** - everyone has it's own taste of what is good .. :D********

whenever I read about a designer or artist giving an inspirational talk in some public forum, I try to imagine myself doing it, and can never think of a single thing I would say
- i recently had to post-rationalise some of my work for an article. i sound like a total fanny.********
- You always sound like a fanny.Nairn
- I imagine this too, and believe it's why I would make a lousy teacher. I could be wrong, but there are other reasons why IJaline

there is a divide amongst the black population in Oakland. on one side is the afristocracy and on the other ghettocracy. I'm practicing recognizing the difference.
