well...after 11 hours. The streams have been successfully crossed.
The result is a nice object which will feed my application.
I can now go and die in peace.
For today at least.

Tonight I will help half a dozen eight-year-old boys build little wooden toolboxes. For some it will be their first woodworking project. Wish me luck.

Today I've been reflecting on my earliest memory.
My family was camping and I saw a squirrel for the first time. I had little experience with animals outside of our dog - so I yelled at it thinking it would come running over to me. My Dads laughter is still crisp and vivid. I quickly realized its home was in the woods and that it answered to no one. But I struggled with the idea of nature for some time after returning to the city.
Thinking about this completely stops my ability to work. I find myself in front of the computer pondering how naive I once was and how naive I still am.

i think my earliest memory is of me sneaking into the kitchen in the middle of the night to make my favorite snack: mustard sandwiches.
i was probably 3 or 4.
