Ok, so.. my wife got a job month and a half ago in a startup that is dedicated to cryptocurrencies, growing fast, linked to agriculture..
She's always worked in the finance area, but given the size and the synergy that takes place in startups, founders of this 20+ employee company has already offered her the possibility of learning and developing as a project manager. Yup.
That's not all; A few days ago they started searching for a position, for someone who does exactly the same thing that I've been doing in a very large company for more than 1 year.
Aaaaand... we know for sure that the salary available is a little more than two times what I currently earn.
What the fuck do I do? I. thought I had seen everything, but the wife PM and 2x the moneyz? Fuuuck!!! elp.

Had to run like buggery to get the bus earlier, with boots jeans and a backpack with a laptop and a load of stuff in, so doing that 'old man running carefully' kinda gait. Anyway, I make it on and sit down and then spend a minute or so trying to catch my breath without making too much of a scene (veh British) and as part of this am slowly exhaling out of my nose, as much as my body doesn't want to do this.
I keep hearing this weird squeak on exhaling, which I start to get quite self-conscious about, because it's quite fucking loud, never mind more than a bit weird, so I try limiting myself more until it stops and I come to a calm. All good.
About two minutes later I hear the squeaks again, out of sync with my breathing and it's only at that point I realise the large bag on the lap of the girl opposite has a mewling kitten in it, this time looking out at me as if to come and save it.

I bought myself some cheap dentist descaling tools to get at some of the hard to reach stuff in my mouth and brushing my teeth last night I decided to use one of the hook ones to get at some of the tartar and calculus like they do at the dentist.
Reader, I had a few full on shards of calculus break off like calving iceberg chunks from under my gums. One spot between my bottom teeth ribboned off like I had magnetic tape stuck between my teeth.
My pearlies feel so smooth and clean now I’m beginning to think flossing doesn’t really do much beyond pulling out the day’s food chunks. Jurys out on whether I’m damaging my enamel but I’m taking it slow so I dont think so. loving this purchase.

Yesterday, I felt really down. I was frustrated because working as a nude photographer basically means you spend a lot of money on models without there being a market anymore. So, I spend more money than I earn which is not a good business model.
Therefore I sometimes have these moments where I think "Why am I doing this?" and "What for?". And I cannot answer to myself other than that it's my passion and I need to do it.
And then, this morning, I wake up to an email with a commission for something very special. It's an art project and so it doesn't mean the budget is good, but I am so on fire. I began working on it right away.
My point is: Life's a circle. One time you're down, next time you'll be up. Sometimes it's hard to believe life goes like this but it should be a reminder for all of us creatives to keep the chin up even in difficult times.
