    WTF is this shit?

    • You ... kind of answered your own question there, moldy!Continuity
    • My ~6 kid watches 'Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures' and it pains me. She found it herself, so it's her thing and I support her in it, but... SW is for kids.Nairn
    • Always was.Nairn

Winds of up to 114mph (183kmh) recorded here in Ireland overnight.

I finally captured actual footage of Ziggy & Sylvester play fighting - they do this all the time but as soon as I pick up my phone to film them doing it they stop, so smart! (well Sylvester is)

    Everything is so fucking tiring.

Our political and business "leaders" have just turned into internet trolls...just a giant pissing contest to see who has the bigger ego.

If you have even a slightly wired existence, it's impossible to ignore. Fuck them all.

    • Probably should have put in the signs your getting old thread...even the title of that triggers me.BusterBoy

When I use ChatGPT for coding the art tools I've been making since last year, there are times it seems to have an "off night" and it just doesn't get things right after multiple prompt updates. I find myself wanting to scold it like a child that isn't listening. It's so weird. LOL

    • No clue why people still use closed models when DeepSeek R1 is available. It simply works great!grafician
    • Haha, you scold children for not listening? Brutal!! ;-) What art tools you been making buddy?Ianbolton

I'm looking for an old video, I guess from 2010 or even older:
It shows the analogy of a good idea being made bad by feedback and client input, using a person being made up into a clown.

    Can anyone remember it?

And knows where I can find it? I can only find make-up tutorials on youtube...

Re: Everything is so fucking tiring.

After Thanksgiving I stopped checking in with the news.

There's been a considerable amount of more time available to think about what I want to think about. Unless you're required to watch the spectacle, turn away. Thank yourself for it later.

    • Turn on, tune in, drop out_niko
    • we can all do with some unplugging and enjoying life._niko
    • Yep it is a good way to be. just remember that when they come for you or it comes for you, don’t expect anyone to care about your plightnb
    • They won’t anyway, so you’re good. I mean, most of us “care” to the extent of getting outraged on our screens... no action.nb
    • But when your house burns down or your government comes to take away your rights...thoughts and prayers have no value, anyway.nb

Had an uncle (my moms brother) die unexpectedly overnight.

He was a wild man through life, never really "took off" in life / failure to launch.

    Drugs, booze, etc. etc. etc.

    Heart attack.

NOT unexpected, BUT start to think about NOT making an effort to see him more, have him over for family meals these last few years, etc. etc. etc.

Just another perspective on time, family, life, etc. etc. etc. on a cool Canadian Monday morning.

I'm trying to practise awareness more these days and perhaps this is a note for you to do the same as time passes.

    XO to you and yours.

    • 66 years old SOOO again, NOT unexpected AND (generally) an age where this type of lifestyle catches up with you...ideaist
    • yeah that always sucks. and we inevitably regret not reaching out/spending time more. It's tough. when you have kids, family, work etc etc._niko
    • but even though he didn't take off, it sounds like he enjoyed the ride while he was here :) and hopefully brought some joy and good memories to loved ones_niko
    • @_niko I agree; he certainly did whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, which is great for him!

Death (& taxes) just suck, I guess.

I remember the time as a young 17 year old buck me a few friends went into the Ritz in NYC to see a band. I drove. At some point during the concert I reached into my pockets expecting to feel my car keys. They weren't there and I inwardly panicked. How the hell am I going to find my keys in this concert? How the hell am I going to get home? Car towed!

Then I remembered that I parked my car in a garage. They had the keys.

I'm going to see a band tonight but hope to find on-street parking.

Yesterday morning, I tried setting up Downtime on my iphone. Blocked access to browsers, social, or any of my apps that cause distraction. Only left things like Messages, ebooks, Procreate, Maps.

By about 11 A.M. I was fed up with the internet so I flipped it on. Fuck it. Blocks access until the next day.

Verdict: fantastic! What a great rest of the day. Going to flip it on again this morning.
