"any form of discrimination should be challenged."
today this reads:
EVERY form of discrimination WILL be challenged and you'll get a big fat settlement if you abuse this right!

fair enough, so who is responsible for the US being a out-of-control litigous state.
again, the policy makers.
- mitsu0
agreed. but that's a whole other can of worms.

Mitsu,
Are you saying that people or groups that discriminate should get away with it?
- lowimpakt0
someone mentioned the constitution - which to me seems to be able to defend some very odd things. Again correct me if Im wrong. The US constitution is a 'rigid' constitution written, what, 200 years ago. Do you think this 18th century Enlightenment era document is suitable for providing any statutory guidelines on contemporary issues?
dont answer if this is too far off topic (but you'll find it is relevant to what Im trying to get across)

neither. the problem is that 'discrimination' is a political buzzword that today has almost nothing to do with people being treated unfairly due to ethnicity, religion, gender, etc... it's an alternative to putting your car on the traintracks and collecting insurance. it's a way to get what you want at work, school, wherever. it's been abused and no one can argue with that.
i just have to question special rights and priveledges for minorties because i don't feel that they serve the purpose today that they did when affirmative action was first introduced. then, it was effective and justified. today, i can't say for sure.

look, i wrote this whole long thing and deleted it,
fuck it,
Alot of good kids miss out on school so a more balanced community can have the oppurtunitys to attend school. Which isn't fair, and is equal.
