Hey there,
I am having a biiiig problem with my sound object thing. I am exporting the movie, linking a file from the library and playing it. It works okay. But I had a preloader and it seems "not to be there" while the sound is loading. When it is loaded and only couple of frames remain, I can see it... on 96% or something. 0-95% are not there to see.
Options I checked in the "Linkage" box are:
Export for ActionScript
Export in first FrameAnybody knows what I am doing wrong? Need more info to see the problem?

not sure i understand, have you checked...:

hmm. I am not preloading an external mp3, I am embedding a sound from the library. but shhh... here is a link to get a better picture: http://www.wital.net/en/wital/co…
It is loading.... loading... then suddenly comes "96%" or whatever and it is done. Where are the other 95?

sounds linked to in the library with "Export in first frame" checked will load before your preloader.
to overcome it, load your entire movie (with linked sounds etc) into another "holder" movie. and have youre preloader in that movie. make sense?

makes sense. only now, with the option unchecked, I don't get it exported at all! :/
The following code resides inside a frame in the main timeline right after the preloader mc starts:
var as = new Sound();
as.attachSound("WitSound");
as.setVolume(0);
as.stop();

when you have sounds linked like this, they are preloaded first, before anything is drawn on the stage. that is why it isn't until after your sounds have loaded, your preloader shows up and shows 90%.
you should try to load your sounds in from a seperate movie.

my eyes yre bleeding. all I wanted was to make it fade in/out when someone clicks the controls (which are still to come). dammit,.
I am trying to preload the sound in another swf, it works localy, but not remotely. I have no idea why.
