Anyone here evr been there? Is it worth going to?
- inspiration0
yes - i've been.
no - i wouldn't recommend it.architecturally it's interesting. but there's something ominous about it. threatening almost.
there's an unbeleivable amount of council housing.

cold these days, would like to go in the Spring. Never been

ominous?
Obviously went to the wrong bits mate - it's got it's fair share of Ned scum, like any other British industrial city, but it's one of those places that's spent a lot of money on renewal so it's a million miles from the old razor gang stereotypes etc...
Very creative city, decent clubbing (best if your into deep house/Detroit techno), arts well represented, big football city (don't advise visiting on Old Firm match day!), great people etc etc - you should definately visit.Oh aye - and I do live there, before you ask :D

When did you come here Inspiration, and what turned you off?
Last post all true IMHO, but would be interesting to see if others get pissed off by the same stuff I do living here day to day =P
Edinburgh's definately more for the daytrippers - it's a lovely lookin town (though it has it's dirty estates also) Visitors to Scotland should def see both, only way to get a good view of the culture (plus see the highlands - but go in spring like JazX said)

I reckon Glasgow has got to be the ned capital. Its great for bars and shopping but beware as 1 in 4 people carry a knife.

Save is a cunt :)
He's right though ;) helps deal with unsavouries...

Glasgow - Seems to be more contemporary, with more things going on. Better shops and better bars, women are ok too. Although the majority of them are orange with bleach blonde hair.
Edinburgh - Very snooty, looks nicer and a little more laid back. You have less chance of being knifed just because you don't have a Scottish accent. Shops and bars are pretty lame and the only time the city becomes active is when the festivals are on. Even then its not that great. The city becomes over populated and the streets become full of Drama types wanting a ateention 24/7
*rant over, counting days down to when he leaves Scotland !

My mum's from Coatbridge, near Glasgow. Scottish people are ace but mad cunts too :)
(and I include my mum in that definition also!)1 in 4 people carry knifes? What? is that just in Glasgow? A lot of young twats around here (east London) carry knifes. Well, they call 'em knifes but they aint shit compared to my samurai special.
The thing I like about Glasgow's take on knifes is they use stanley knifes (box cutters to the yanx). But, it doesn't stop there, oh no. They use 2 blades seperated by a matchstick. So when they cut you, it leaves 2 deep parallel cuts which is a fucking bastard to sew!

Blah blah blah, yada yada yad yada rant rant ra--
--actualy, em... can't argue
with that, however -"You have less chance of being knifed just because you don't have a Scottish accent."

A lot of my Japanese mates love Glasgow and Scottish people generally. They don't get knifed just because they don't have a Scottish accent, and not only that, they obviously don't look Scottish either.
What a load of old cock you talk

then they've all been very lucky!

I lived there for a year and a half recently and liked it. s'all I'm saying. They built a cracking sk8 park just down from my house about a month after I left which was a bit of a pisser.
