it's like the mafia in the US, nobody asks, nobody tells. It's here also.
- mrsparkle0
this is something that's not about the US, there are scary people doing fucked up things, everywhere.
Sorry if it seems like I'm ragging on the US, I'm trying to quit.

this is the kinda of soft ass canadian shite that makes the country look like one big pussy and creates more friction with america because there are 'responsibilities'
- mrsparkle0
Usually there's a conviction. Or at least a retrial!
- mrsparkle0
But enough Law and Politics, after all, we're Canadian!!
Can we talk about Hockey for a minute here?

this is a sad sad story, so unfortunate. i don't see how it comes back to america though?
- mrsparkle0
okay. you win. the air india bombing was about america. it wasn't in reaction to goings on in India in the 80's. It's not about what's going on with the canadian legal system. Everything has to do with the US.

air india = ques sera sera
united airlines = "burn those motherfucking terrorists"

sorry.
have to agree with mrsparkle..
kona buddy, don't know where it was all coming from, but i think folks were just talking about the ruling up here, and the phrase 'not supposed to happen' didn't apply to the states, but as in 'not supposed to happen here at all' in general, and in canada specifically..
on a personal note, the news hit clost to home here at my house..
my wife and her family had 3 friends on that flight..
my wife's dance instructer, and her family amongst others...
so we had a personal intersest in seeing those fuckers go to prison..
looks like snake eyes on that roll...fuck

condolences to your family and the family of your friends exador

Not meaning to spark any reactions, but for what I know of the case - and I admit I don't know too too much, I believe the ruling was right.
NOT because I am saying they did or did not do it, but because there was no real hard evidence linking them. Case was based mostly on witness testimony.
The witness testimony does not go beyond reasonable doubt.
Sucks, I know.
- brandelec0
you're right spiral, not only was it mostly based on witness testimony but the crown was fucking up the stories, and everything was inconsistent

hey this will go off topic:
I always wonder if this was related, but one day I was walking home from work and downtown here the whole block of the law court from Robson UBC, all the way to south side of the law court was police taped off...
Know what that was about? I always wondered if it was connected to the case as maybe a bomb threat or something.
Lots of news cameras, but I never saw the news that night. Couldn't find anything about it on the net next day.
Know what that was about?
- mrsparkle0
Maybe that was when some guy started throwing molitov cocktails around the Law counts?
I he was doing it in response to gay marriage.
- brandelec0
ya i saw that too i was walking down nelson and detoured up howe - figured they received a threat of some sort..
my Macromedia Director instructor back in college was called for jury duty on this case but was dismissed, he wouldn't tell us why but all i know is that he was shitting pants one day and smiling the next
- spiralstarez0
that's crazy...
where you guys work in Van?
