it gets worse when you reach what you aspire to, only to discover that it sucks

non-sense...
If your not happy where your at now, find a company that you admire. 4 Years of school or not, be prepared to start at the bottom but work hard and you will make your way up... it will be better as well because you will know how the departments under you work first hand.
There are plenty of opportunities out there, if you have got your health and 4 years of school under your belt, you have a lot of freedom when looking for a new job.

That was how I felt after I finished school. I called every web company listed in the yellow pages. I got at least 50 rejections before realizing that I had to approach things differently.
To make a Long story short, I had one call out of at least 100 that helped start my design career.

your schools didn't help you get jobs?

I wish. I went to University of California San Diego. A respected school, but they teach with an emphasis on "art" and not "design" "technology" or things that will help you get a job.
I was really against it at the time, but looking back I think it was a good thing because despite my lack of preparation for the job market, I got a chance to do stuff I'll probably never get to do again.

there are good jobs out there with enough creative freedom to satisfy your needs, you just gotta look under every stone and pebble to find it. Your career isn't going to aces all the way, just see this as a temporary thing. If you don't like what you're doing then work hard at finding what you do like and want. Either that or become your own boss and find clients who WILL listen to you.

nocomply, is your handle named after the skate trick?
When I skated I was the master of the 360 backside nocomply.
No shit. Full speed, flatland, slip the front foot off the nose and then snap a 360 nocomply nice and smooth.
I've never seen anyone that can do that besides Matt Hensley and myself.
Oh, as far as the job situtation, well, deal with it.
