i'm up for kids learning both and making up their own minds.
- Nairn0
i doubt it.
- breadlegz0
Nairn.
Its a waste of time to argue on these things. I changed my mind a few years back, but it was nothing to do with "proof" or lack of proof"

i learnt evolution at my school.
thats all they taught us.
creationism was never mentioned. even in RE lessons.
- Nairn0
then let's say no more.
i believe* one way, you believe another.
laters, kids
*subject to change

So are we all happy that the earth is not only flat, but also sits upon the back of a huge turtle?
- TheTick0
Guys, this is no fun without Discipler. Really...
- yarsrevenge0
evolution is the swiss cheese of school teachings... too many holes and not enough flavor
- ribit0
well, reality can be tasteless...

i think eveloution is great....that is accutally how i get work done...i just leave my computer on and it creates websites and other good stuff by it self....i dont have to create nothing...it is great...sme thing with my car...it was on pure chance that it was brought toeghter...no one created it...i love....not even my tv have a creator...
- ribit0
evolution is more than just chance. Its a natural (and complex) process.
- bk_shankz0
In fact it is so complex and interesting maybe some intelligent design created it.

but if there was a designer...who designed the designer?

-------------------------------God by definition is the uncreated creator of the universe, so the question "Who created God?" is illogical, just like "To whom is the bachelor married?". The question is flawed, you see. Look at it this way:
1. Everything WHICH HAS A BEGINNING has a cause.
2. The universe has a beginning. Science has confirmed this.
3. Therefore the universe has a cause.
In addition, Einstein's general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since God, by definition, is the Creator of the whole universe, he is the Creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created, so has no beginning in time. Therefore He doesn't have a cause.
God is the "uncaused first cause".

assuming you mean God is the designer at question... why did He design a universe that appears to be filled with naturally evolving systems..... or did He just kick it off and leave it to go it's own way, in which case we have both Creation and Evolution, and we're all happy...

"assuming you mean God is the designer at question"
------------------------------
I think there are compelling reasons to believe that God is the designer. Just one - it would require an uncaused being who is both Omnipotent and Omniscient to produce what we see in our universe and nature."why did He design a universe that appears to be filled with naturally evolving systems"
------------------------------
This question is rooted in a misunderstanding of what Creationists and ID proponents believe. We believe in microevolution (adaptation) within species, as the evidence for this is abundant. This is what science actually observes and what you and I see as well - creatures do adapt to environmental conditions over time. But, we do not believe in Darwinian Macroevolution (species to species, or "goo to you") because science has not observed this and the "evidence" is questionable at best. Additionally, this idea goes against confirmed scientific laws, like the Second Law of Thermodynamcs (this applies to both isolated and non-isolated systems). This law states that matter moves from order to disorder, the universe is losing usable energy over time. Macroevolution essentially states the opposite - that matter and life improve and become more refined. In addition, a purely naturalistic approach to origins cannot account for the human consciousness and the related metaphysical realities: love, evil, and the ability to reason in general, etc..."or did He just kick it off and leave it to go it's own way, in which case we have both Creation and Evolution, and we're all happy..."
----------------------------
There are numerous reasons why we do not embrace "Theistic Evolution". Here are just a couple:1. For the same reasons we believe that naturalistic or "Atheistic" Evolution did not occur. Lack of evidence and conflict with scientific laws.
2. We believe that the nature required of the God who would create the universe would be one of method and order (a discussion in itself). But in contrast, Darwinism presents a very cruel, disorderly system in survival of the fittest.
3. Finally, I believe that if we are to properly apply the rules of textual criticism to the book of Genesis, we find that it is written as historical narritive and that it stands up under scrutiny as a reliable historical document.

Admit it discipler, you are on some Right wing religious think tanks payroll. You're insidious. Really you NEVER discuss design or graphics questions.
You have to be a paid flack who probably lurks four or five websites to leap at a chance to say "Jesus"
