Good link JazX..I'll look it over, but in the first paragraph:"When science (1) discovers the mechanics of a natural process it imagines itself to have proven the nonexistence of G-d in that realm"
I flat out disagree. I really don't see how a mechanical explanation of natural processes proves god's nonexistence, nor do I find many scientists who would make that statement...

Right, TheTick, just bringing things to the surface. It's funny how if you link something here, it automatically is associated with what you believe. Just a Judaic perspective on it all. I not Jewish though.. so, not sure what half that means and there was very little science assocatied with it.

"It's funny how if you link something here, it automatically is associated with what you believe..."
Strange but true. But I didn't think you believed in it. You're a science guy...but still a good link for this subject. I love religious history and interpretations...

(Jun 15 05, 08:28)Hahaha, you don't say?
Yep, I can tell. All out viewpoints get somewhat skewed by what we really want to say not so much whether it proves or disproves someone.
90% of this is like swoooooooooooosh flies right by my head or your head or discipler's head or thes rest of this gang.

sorry Tick and JazX, I gotta sleep. Time for my bed here. So I don't have time for reading through 670 posts, or browsing the internet for relevant material to ponder together...but...
Has it ever occured to you that religion is a mute point?
As in 'duh!'. I mean, sure, it's an issue you could spend all night discussing, but so is the new McDonalds menu. Doesn't mean it's worth it.
I never took religion seriously. From day one at primary school, I thought it was a joke. And it is.
So what's the point of pondering it? Maybe talk about something constructive, like active ways that you can bring about social change, or better colour combinations for my Onitsuka Tigers.
Religion is for fuckin people in deserts...with swords and shit.

JazX, that is the guy. He is on this christian cable channel in my city every night at around 10:30.
he sounds like discipler. No offense discipler, but he does.
- discipler0
lol @ gruntt!
Easily the funniest NT character.
- discipler0
did some quick research on him. Seems that groups like AIG do not endorse him because, even though he shares their views on the major issues, he tends to go on tangents about fringe issues regarding paying taxes and weird stuff like that. Also, he's kind of an island to himself without the accountability of a peer group or affiliation. Anyway, overall he adheres to what young earth Creationists hold to.

discipler you fucking idiot! you've got the 2nd law of thermodynamics ALL WRONG!
LISTEN:::
"The tension between Evolution and Entropy (The Second Law of Thermodynamics). A proven scientific law which states that the universe is breaking down... decaying, if you will. This flies in the face of the macro evolutionary model. "
ok first, the law is actually the relation between ENTHALPY and ENTROPY, and applying this to evolution is simply an analogy used by many lecturers to give first year biologists an idea that there is a constant battle between the need to evolve fast enough to adapt to minute changes in environmental circumstance, whilst also preventing any evolution from becoming chaotic and causing the organism to evolve beyond its environment such that it loses it's niche and the enviroment provides no support.
second, recent studies and very complex mathematical modelling and analysis have shown that the universe is, in fact, expanding, not decaying (yet - although they expect this to start happening in hundereds of billions of years from now). Not that this has any bearing whatsoever on evolution. Observe the number of bacteria and other organisms that start to grow AND MULTIPLY on a dead or dying body, for instance. In fact decay and detrimental circumstance are precisely the environmentally stressful conditions that SELECT FOR those organisms that have undergone evolution. eg. MRSA. lots of antibiotic overuse. bad for the bacteria. only those that have developed resistance survive.
