Has anyone here ever printed their own design on a skate deck?
I was thinking of doing it myself but I dont know how to handle the contours of the board.

I saw this one post in here a while back where the guy had a really large squeegee and used his thumbs to push the squeegee AWAY from him.
I'll try to find the link.

Thought about how you would do that also. I think they probly just have a screen big enough with enough give to hit the whole surface.

yeah it's a custom screen set-up. You can do it a couple of ways.
gigposters has some threads about it.

take this factory tour to see how it's done.

you can do it with a normal silk screen to a degree. But you wont get past the arch of the kick. And its hard to get it good round the rocker....but it can be done. But proper skateboard screens are totally contoured for a skateboard

thanks for the links everyone. 375's link said that the secret is in using a really loose screen.

and in that factory tour it looks like they print the graphics when the wood is still flat. And then they shape the wood after that.

if you want to print end to you need to burn your screent then remove the frame, and then pull it tightly over the board, you'll need like 3 people, one on each side and one to squeege...
at least thats how we ghetto did them :D

Great place to ask questions or just read about other people doing it.
