all sony mp3 have a really good battery life. my gf's has more than 70 hours of playback time i think. I never see her recharging its batteries and I've seen her snowboarding, running, going t the gym, going to school with it.
the only bad thing about the sony mp3 players is that you have to transform the mp3s to atrac3 or whatever that format is called. and their softare is crap.

i just bought a zen micro on ebay, 6gb, £117, will let you know if ive been ripped!!

The zen looks nice and solid, and I've heard good things about the players themselves, with some complaint about the headphones.... easy to replace :)
that mobiblu cube player looks awesome, but i imagine it could get fiddly with the navigation on something that small....

(Nov 12 05, 17:11)that's what I thought, but I read several reviews online and apparently nobody has problem with it.

Any experience with this one?

I know the small iriver mp3s are crap. but who knows about the bigger ones like that one. All i can say about that specific one is that it feels kinda cheap and not very well built. I feels as fragile and cheap as a instant camera.

vote zen micro, follow your brains...or vote ipod and follow the rest

I have a black Zen Micro. It's been good...but....I bought it because it had a FM tuner (that sucks) and other goodies.
I ripped the cord out of the ear pieces by sitting up too fast once (they were still in my hear, even after the cable snapped).
It stopped playing music about 3 weeks in. Had to send to Creative. It was painless, though, and they were quick to fix it.
It comes with an extra battery, which is great.
Overall, I am happy with it, but I don't think it's better than an iPod.
Personally, if I were to do it again, I'd look around. Now that I know the FM reception is not great, then it doesnt' do anything the iPod doesnt'. That nano just looks cool to me.
Those others linked on here looked pretty good, too.

I'm most likely getting mine from Futureshop.ca, and it helps that there are lots of users willing to write reviews about each and every MP3 player. Just saves so much time. Anyway, that Zen looks great. I'm still looking around to see which one I prefer, and I'm hoping to buy it within this week.

i couldn't imagine carrying that cube in my pocket though...?
- Jaline0
Apparently it's impossible to carry it in your pocket with the specially-designed headphones, but you can switch them for different ones. People claim you can carry it fine in your pocket after that, but I absolutely hate having something jutting out of my pocket like that. It wouldn't be a problem for me, since I hate carrying things in my pocket.

id hang it on a string around my neck under a jacket

if you have to you can play dice!

I don't know how, with a micro if you press the secret button it flys and takes you to work avoiding public transport. Ipods don't have hidden features such as this.
