oh discipler man, please can it with that shit, if you can't handle the POSSIBILITY at least that we are not the beloved passtime of an all powerful creator you really need to grow up a little. sheesh.

For the record, even though you bore the piss out of me discipler, I'm begining to question the convenience of mutualy dependant life and therefor life in general. The fig tree and fig wasp being a good example.
So, maybe we have a creator of sorts, maybe google made us, I just don't know and doubt I ever will.
Why are you so certain you have the answers? I mean you are nothing when it comes down to it so why would you be graced with the answers?
And, if you do actually have them, would your time not be better spent doing something more worthwhile, as opposed to nipping peoples heads on a design board?

There has got to be more to life than just being really, really, really, ridiculously good-looking.

and I'm saying that while happily conceding to you that ID is indeed (disregarding the heavy bible implications) a possibility for The Begining of the universe (pre big bang that is - it certainly isn't DISprovable), but that shitty thinking is rediculous mate...

dickpler - i was pointing out that evolutionary theory and evolutionary science has directly led to great advances in psyciatric medicine (as any psychologists will tell you) as well as evolutionary principles being used for computer programming and other stuff.

no kona, there isnt.
being handsome means never having to say you're sorry.

skt and kelpie, yes i'm boring etc... etc...
I don't believe I have all the answers. For instance, I couldn't debate politics to save my life.
What I DO know is this specific issue. Because the topic of origins is of particular interest to me. That's all. And I get impatient when I see a philosophical position which lacks empirical support, being pushed as scientific fact. Especially in light of the last 30 years of scientific discovery.

discipler
(Jan 5 06, 07:41)you better write a letter to the economist then, they had a whole issue dedicated to knew advances in evolutionary thinking. shit man!
- discipler0
Depends on what you mean by evolution, kuzz. If you mean advancement within a species. Sure. I'm with you.
But, if you extrappolate the evidence to mean that species and organs and body plans turned into completely novel ones... no, I disagree. That is unscientific. It's a narritive.

(Jan 5 06, 07:40)I'll let you know once I come back down off the mountain, it's about time I gave this issue some serious thought...

Philosophy sucks. Give me real evidence.
- discipler0
I agree with the economist on there being evolutionary advances in homo sapien thinking. No issue there.

hehe, but what makes us "desire" and "like" the Frappachino, kOna? There is certainly no survival advantage to purchasing and consuming one. ;P
- kelpie0
K0na you're missing the point! the male model issue, merely proposes that after the reduction of our environmental challenges evolution is currently being reversed. Really man, get with hte programme!
- KuzII0
dickpler - you refuse to accept evolution because it conflicts with your fundamentalist and dogmatic religious beliefs. If you countenanced evolution, your whole world would fall apart and you would be driven to suicicide, and prolly end up murdering your progeny in a pique of dementia.

i find discipler terribly annoying so i've had him on ignore for ages. if he bothers y'all more than entertains you with this nonsense, just put him on ignore.

We do it out of reverance for the band Wham.
