Yeah I guess $200 isn't too bad, and I am lucky that its only myself I need to cover. I would just go without it, but I'm one of those worst case scenario kind of people and I would sleep better knowing I'm insured.
Still, I'm just pissed at the rediculousness of this system! But I have an idea now...if/when I quit I will make my last day the 1st. That way I'll screw them out of a month! I think its only fair.

You know I just can't win. Entering my first month of company-sponsored health insurance, I find out that our premiums are going up to double what they used to be.
I'm going to be paying $82.02 per month just to cover myself. I can get a decent plan all on my own for like $30 more than that. Not much of a "benefit" if you ask me.

I've had insurance/haven't had insurance for about 5 years now. I never use it.
If someone cuts my arm off with a samurai sword when I leave work today, I blame this thread for jinxing me.

sorry...COBRA blows...you're lucky it's just yourself you're payin' fer.
Buddy o'mine had to do COBRA for himself and family...cost him $1,100 a month. ouch
