Artists such as U2, Lifehouse, Creed, Sufjan Stevens, King's X, Thrice, Evanescence, Coldplay, Blessid Union of Souls, The Elms, and Switchfoot do not claim to be "Christian bands", but include members who openly profess to be Christians and feature Christian thought, imagery, scripture or other influences in their music.

Creed makes my ears bleed.
Sufjan Stevens, on the other hand, is a class act.

he never answered Pony my friend

Yeah that might not be the reason, but that comment you made is enough to force a settlement. Unless your company wants to spend even more money proving that it wasn't because of his work with a religious band. If I was your boss and saw this I would fire you for being a liability.
Abandoned
(Nov 9 06, 14:38)Jesus Christ. I'm with Jevad on this one, if the above is remotely tethered in any way to reality on this planet, I'm leaving soon as...

(and the rapture are already a band, so I think they should sue these christian plagiarists)

the religious and their religion get too much respect these days.
their existence alone allows for the extremists. there. it's been said.

you're confused
- planet010
Not sure that I am following here...
The existence of what allows for the existence of who? Are you saying the existence of religion allow for the existence of "extremists"?
I guess the existence of food allows for the existence of fat people?
So, do away with religion because some people are taking it too far?
Is that the gist?

Ah that's cool Jevad. You should've clarified in your first post. :]

(Nov 17 06, 10:14)yea. but it can't be done with violence and laws. i hope it can be done through the process of education and critical thinking.
the existance of food doesn't allow the existence of fat people (tho mainly, but there are genetic differences as well)
religion is a virus. and a harmful one at that.
- planet010
i'd have to disagree with you there...
Devisive? Yes.
Have many awful things been done in the name of religion?
Yes. But, to me, you can't throw it all away.
In my view, religion is so devisive because there are true elements involved.
In our western mindset everything is science and yet the US is a more "spiritual" nation every day.
Anyhow, I'm going off on a tangeant, and I'm not trying to start a debate.
I am a Christian though, and not a thoughtless one either.
Beyond the fringe of Christianity thats get pointed out so often, there are thoughtful, critical thinking Christians out there who could probably put some of your assumptions to the test.
While I'm not "religious" in the sense of ritualism and rule following, I don't believe that this world would be any better without religion.
At the base, I think we are all screwed up and hopeless without God.
- flagellum0
jay, you're confused. Education and unbiased critical thinking lead one to recognize deliberate design in nature. This, of course, raises 2nd order philosophical questions, like: Who might this designer be?
So, ultimately, true critical thinking will lead in the opposite direction of nihilism/materialism.
- k0na_an0k0
glad you cleared that up jevad
- flagellum0
and this is why we live in a post-modern culture and why more and more people are embracing religious faith.
