"not much rich culture in terms of the arts and entertainment...not much diversity..."
bingo.
this is exactly why i moved after beeing there for so many years. it was really the lack of any outside 'influence' that got to me.
don't get me wrong however, CO is great for many, many things. overall, i just found it to be lacking many items i feel are best for a reciprocal community.

well, maybe i believe that you also choose to see what you see. i haven't been quite exposed to the college douchebags as you might have probably because of where i choose to be. granted you can't compare it to SF and it still is more homogeneous than many of the places i understand you grew up in.
i just get annoyed when ppl who don't fit because of their reasons or background crap on a town. i know this place is probably negatively coloured for you, and i also think that happened from the get-go. it's not HK, it's not SF.

Love the mountains, the weather, the quality of life here no doubt.
It has a lot to offer...but going to SF has made me rethink things. Well..that and everything else that's been going on.
Pretty much the only thing stopping me getting back on a plane to go there next weekend and look for work is my son.

its hard to compare SF with anywhere USA(accept NYC, LA). there just way too much going on there.

(Apr 9 07, 09:04)Marina - pls don't take it personally ok? This is my personal feeling on a town I have never much taken too - how is that rubbing you up the wrong way so much?
All I've said is that going to SF has reminded me what I don't like about this place so much. Yeah, it's not SF, HK or London, and there's a lot here that I like. I'm not trying to compare apples and oranges here - I'm simply coming to the realisation that Denver does not have much to offer a sophisticated gentleman such as myself.
hahahahahha
jokes marina.....all jokes....

i suppose if you said "it's not for me" w/out belittling it by comparison then i'd completely respect that

Nic, I completely agree with what you're saying. Denver is a great place to visit, but for me it's not a great place to live.

boulder is more like SF, at least we have smelly hippies

I am in love with SF. If she were a woman I would cover her in honey and mayonaise and, nevermind.....
