no kidding sputnik.
What's the point , what's the big deal? Look at all the designers out there still using paint drips...jeeeez.
And not to mention all the fat people in the midwest with gout!

fuck, smoking kills over 400,000/year, anyone here decrying the tobacco industry? how many of you smoke. strange how priorities change based on personal beliefs and habits.

Seriously? You are equating the two? That is a ridiculous argument because choice and free will is involved in smoking.
the dogs don;t have a choice - I'm sure if you asked them they would rather be carried around and pampered by Paris Hilton instead of killing each other.
The really sad thing is even the dogs that live long enough in the fighting ring to be "saved" by a police raid are all put down because they are deemed not adoptable. So the minute they are put in a ring they are sentenced to death one way or the other.
Yeah totally just like smoking.

priorities? Like lohan, paris, shakira?

i get your point v5, i really do. people are dying and wars are being fought...but if i see my neighbour slapping his wife around, should i just turn away cause really, in the grand scheme of things, there are bigger things to worry about than a smack here and there?
or is it possible that i can care about her, the war, disease, some wanker and his dogs AND that stubborn rash that just won't...um. oops.
;)
i do get where you're coming from and i understand the frustration.

He probably makes more in one year than I will accumulate in my entire life, haha.

I was forced to smoke cigarettes by Michael Vick.

i've said my peace

and i don't mind those who are in disagreement.just know, that I, as a person on this rock called earth, know the difference between right and wrong and would never harm a dog, especially in the fashion that is the topic at hand.
if it makes any of you feel any better, i stopped my jeep across a highway blocking all southbound traffic last month to rescue a scottish terrier that had jumped into the street, in return for my good deed he bit my hand, but that did not deter me from attempting to read his collar and notifying the owner. though he continued to bite at me.
i even let it chill in the back of the jeep until they got there.

get yourself tested ;)

i hope the owners were grateful!
i found a dog running around in the street and did the same thing. i went through quite a bit of trouble to find the owner (only had vet's number on tag) and when she stopped by my house to pick him up she opened the door, the dog jumped in and she drove off.
no thanks, no have a nice day. nada. :\

I hear you V5, the place is a big bunch of f--k.
- version30
they didn't care at all and didn't even apologize, or recognize for that matter, that i was bleeding, they simply walked away.
i didn't do it for the owner though, i did it for the dog.

AND that stubborn rash that just won't...um. oops.

Since we're talking about the grand scheme of things here (at least I think we are) Cesar Milan said the other day:
"that dog doesn't know that you feel sorry for it, that you love it. All that dog knows is that you give it food and attention and it happens to live in the same shelter as you"
...something to that extent. Bottom line is the situation that humans have created and evolved concerning dogs is our own. Most of the problems we face globally are of our own creation. It's a constant battle against mother nature or human nature every day.
Even though my dog doesn't understand the concept of love the bottom line is that I love that dog. And yes, just as I'd defend a random human from getting beat, I'd do the same for a random animal... well, as long as the outcome wasn't going to involve me losing my life; there's a select few that I'd trade that for.

i agree with you v5 (on the link you posted about priorities) but you need to remember the topic of this thread.
dog fighting.
start a thread about darfur and i'll be just as upset. you're in a dog fighting thread and we're talking about a piece of shit human who has absolutely no remorse for a living creature.
this has been somewhat of an nt record for being 170 some posts and the thread is still on track... talking about dog fighting. so try not to freak out when people are sickened by it and not bringing up out of the blue the tragedy taking place in sudan.
and if you have me on ignore can someone please post this for him so he can see it.

I found a dog the other day that was lost 5 days earlier. gave him my banana chips and clif bar. rode my bike to my car and returned to pick him up and took him the POPO office where they called the owner and she came to pick him up.

(Jul 19 07, 13:56)not to get all gay on you or anything but it's statements like that that make me proud to call you friend.
i couldn't agree more with that line of thinking greg.
oh. off topic. a vegas trip later this year might be in the works. i'll keep you posted.

i would never say my dog loves me, but when i'm a door away and he can't get to me, and he howls that sad, long melancholy howl...i can't help to think he's anxious or sad. then i come in and he dances around me like he hit the jackpot. it's endearing.
