Not sure if this should go in the politics thread or maybe there should be a political cartoon thread? My apologies if in wrong place...
I usually try not to get into political stuff, but I thought it would be interesting to put a "graphic design" twist on a cartoon - anyhow, here's a Pantone style chart of some of the more colorful material coming out of the current U.S. pres.
It seems like everyday there's a new thing however. So I'm positive I missed out on some doozies... Maybe by the end (hopefully not the world!) - I'll have a whole orange and gold book to print jeez...

- Ah, shame, this would have been shaping up to be really cool. Client ejected?Continuity
- charming nonetheless.MrAbominable
- @Continuity Yeah. Most likely rejected. It definitely needs a lot of love, and I don't think my client sees the long term vision of it.skwiotsmith
- And even worse I don't have the time to invest if she's not interested. Trying to sneak this project in before a baby comes.skwiotsmith

- Really great sketches. Are you doing full renders? Love to see these executed.antimotion
- They stay as sketches. Sometimes i need to "see" first what i write about to make the environment less abstract in my head.pr2
- Nice approach. I write a bit too, maybe good to try for reference. Do you have anything published? Or shorts on medium? I’d like to read.antimotion

So technically speaking i have written "The End" even though i still have around 15% of the book to write. Here is the sketch from one of the last scenes where the main character visits a robot art collector who laments that people chose to be like anyone else even though given the gift of uniqueness (unlike him who as robot was made in thousands). At the end of the visit the main character is given a box within which there is a letter from his father written almost 400 years ago.

My life is very exciting currently. Last week my new photo book was printed. After four years of work, finally I get closer to showing my photos to public.
The whole project is fully financed by myself, all journeys, all models, book printing, etc. It's a huge investment and I am doing it, because this is what drives me.
I spent the two printing days at the printing house. Huge printing machine and really amazing how this works. It's somewhat different from the printers you know from the office.
You can watch a 80 seconds clip I made while the book was printed:
Now, the sheets are at the bookbinders. They need around 6 weeks until they will be finished.
And if you are interested in buying a copy, I am shipping world-wide: https://www.simonbolz.com/sublim…
- Congratulations !gonzalle
- And what a great job you have!gonzalle
- thank you!SimonFFM
- My first job was for a newspaper, and many people here deal in Big Print, so perhaps our conception of printers is not as wee as you might assume...detritus
- Was referring to color being inserted by hand in a $$$ machine, deviation between sheets due to humidity, things like that.SimonFFM
- No doubt a lot QBN people are experts in print!SimonFFM
- Ah, sorry, I might've misinterpreted you.
*crawls back into cave*detritus - All good, detritus! I am not a native English speaker, so misunderstandings can happen easily.SimonFFM

- its funny the "process". in reality as they get it dialed you in a room, eating junk food and tired as fuck doing a 20+ hour press check your like********

After 92 years in space the astronauts are awaken, hurting of pain and confused. They shouldn't remember anything and yet their dreams still linger. Soon they are to find out that their mission is canceled and they have to make a choice to keep on going on irrelevant adventure to the planet or go back Home spending another 90+ years before they see it:
And from my favorite chapter i'm editing right now: "We brought our soul to complete destruction and were on the verge of having to construct something new. This total destruction of self, of one's dreams, was both terrifying and refreshing. Standing on the edge of abyss of possibilities - man feels frightened at the very idea that now he is his own master.":
- That last frame is fantastic. It reminds be of all the existentialism in West World.CyBrainX

Looking for answers to their metaphysical dilemma, the crew of the ship turns to art. Main character picks up on the idea in Hokusai’s painting of Mt Fuji existing as a sort of god in relation to people. He loads up the paining of "Boy Viewing Mount Fuji" into a 3D projector in hopes to look at the boy's face to see the wonderment.
"I moved through the space of the painting desiring to see the face of that boy dreaming of the mountain. [...] He looked indifferently as the machine didn't understand what motivates people to look at mountains and dream and thus was incapable of reproducing in their faces the awe at the possibility of experience."
