Some new work I shot in London, Nashville, and Phoniex for Signature Jets/MSL/Publicis. Apologies for the lack of monsters!

Eric Ripert just posted my work on his personal Instagram today. That is all.
- you should post the work if proud of it. not focus on the name of some random person********
- oh nvm just saw it below********
- Random person? Go fuck yourself.monospaced
- jeez get pissy. random to me. one of those big youtube kid stars maybe?********
- Guess i should be polite and ask what portion of the work was yours?********
- and how does the plated ironman AE HUD play into the KOI water video overlay? The below link it doesn't show enough to really judge. Really the HUD and organic********
- water vid bug me in what I saw. I will say I have yet to do projection though so be a blast seeing process of spacial elements and how to dial those in.********

- lol, I just realized I'm in the background of his first videomonospaced
- That is awesomedopepope
- Thanks. That only shows about 5% of the work though. We turned the table into a koi pond and did a visual menu on the plates too.monospaced

- Really well done - AFX and C4D animations? Love to see more!antimotion
- I believe so. The animation team here is world class and brought my vision to life in this collaboration for an event at Le Bernardin.monospaced

- Very cool, would love to see a full overview of the project. Also LOL @ Ripert being "one of those big youtube kid stars".ben_
- I wish I had a more comprehensive full overview, but that's not exactly how this kind of project comes together. Who called Ripert a youtube kid star?monospaced

made a small illustrated book for Aesop's fable "The Fox and The Crow", here are the first 4 pages...
I'm contemplating to try to send it to some publishers...if anyone has some recommendation about some who might be interested in children-illustrated books drop me a line, i'm pretty uninformed in this field...google search is always there for starters sure...
- That's really lovely work loool, beautiful.pedromendez
- Why not set-publish? I know the quality is usually shit but could get you started_niko
- The problem with set-publishing is that you couldn't distribute digitally via 5G.Nairn

jokes aside this is utterly lovely, well done.fadein11 - nice@!utopian
- it's a tough game. I designed and CD'd a series of books for Fisher-Price. Royalties are small for the illustrators and in FP's case they want 100% buy-out.Gnash
- you want to find a product developer at a pub house and try and communicate directly with them. Scholastic is always looking for contentGnash
- coming to them with a tight concept will help. The fact that Aesop is public domain will also help.Gnash
- Think about wrapping the concept around current hot issues, like global warming, aboriginal perspectives, etc. It may sound a bit cynical but that's how it is.Gnash
- there are just 2 main distributers of children books in the USA and a ton of competition for shelf space. You need a scholastic-like publisher to get distroGnash

I was commissioned to produce art for a new hotel. It took me 9 months to create the photos and finally they have been produced in 28x40", framed in walnut, behind glass.
110 of those pictures will be hanging in the new hotel in Frankfurt. As those images will hang inside the rooms, you will never happen to see all of my work. This is the downside for me. But at least, I know the work exists.
It was the first time, I was ever commissioned to do such a big project. I spent a lot of time on concept and creation of the photographs. They are different from what I usually shoot, but some include nudity, too. Others include toilets and flowers and funny stuff like that.
I will try to get an appointment in the hotel to quickly walk through the rooms to take some snaps (if there are no guests).
This is the pile of frames when they arrived:
- nudes?dopepope
- Always wondered what it took to get that Hotel gig. Was it a long drawn out process? or they came to you and let you do what you wanted?dopepope
- They asked me about a concept. I presented it. We made a deal: I get 9 months time and they only buy pictures they like. From 0 to 40. Risk was on my side.SimonFFM
- very cool. That's a great thing.dopepope
- I know a couple of people who've been approached to 'do' hotels, DP - in both instances it was the hotel/developer that made initial contact.Nairn
- depending upon the hotel, it seems like great exposure, and lucrative.dopepope
- Congrats Simon!!OBBTKN
- Other than in a museum, my name is not written with the artworks. I got paid for it, but money never is my motivation in life. Really true.SimonFFM

To give you an idea about the photographs that are hanging in the hotel, I put together a selection (15 out of 110). As we are all visual people, here are the pictures:
From top left to bottom right:
1) Mushroom in Vienna
2) Naked woman in a tent
3) Naked woman thrown out of focus
4) Inside a car wash shot through my window
5) Flower market in Porto
6) Ass of a peacock
7) Art deco in Prague
8) Art nouveau in Barcelona
9) Flowers in urinal
10) Toilet statue
11) Girl in Paris
12) Manhole cover in Frankfurt shot from inside canalisation
13) Industrial place (still in use) shot on a Sunday
14) Maria (as of COTD) with projection in a cinema
15) Maria's feet close-upIn the rooms they are all hanging as diptych to give more intensity. The theme of the hotel resides among art nouveau and art deco, in architecture, furniture and design. I was asked to transport this into our age.
Wood and mushroom are themes, because of the restaurant and public spaces. Toilets and industrialisation are a theme because the hotel resides in the street and is named after the person who first installed a real canalisation in Frankfurt. There are more abstract pictures that have to do with the shapes that are being used in the architecture of the building.
To explain everything in detail, I would need more than 10 pages of paper. And I don't like if things need to get explained. Basically, I just wanted to give you an idea what I was working on.
All photos follow a strict color guideline I was given by the interior designers.
- Nice, earthy.robotron3k
- It was good to leave my comfort zone (nudes) for this project. The bottom left one is my fav. All fx done in camera. This with a destroyed prism.SimonFFM

Have a look at the cover of our new book which will be hitting stores worldwide as of September first. With our second book, Wild at Heart, we celebrate the connection between humans and animals by sharing the personal stories of fifteen families who live in the city or the countryside and share a special relationship with their pets. Wild at Heart is published by Luster, and available in English and Dutch.
My wife wrote the stories. I did Photography and Graphic Design.
- Sweet :) I will ask my local bookshop to order one in for me.Gnash

Haven't had much sleep the past week due to a client project and workshop I had to attend as a creative consultant. Needed to clear my mind and just play in photoshop and AFX.
These visualizations were created using textures from a single photo I snapped of some foliage at the Nezu Shrine in Tokyo. Seems I ended up on an imaginary LSD trip where flowers are grown through biomechanical means via some sort of digitally infused photosynthesis.
Hope you enjoy the trip ; )
As always, thanks for checking out and if you'd like to listen to some music - here's some more sound-candy for ya'll: https://lasergunfactory.bandcamp…
