I keep meaning to ask, what do you guys use to make gifs? I find photoshop take so fkng long and hard to reduce file size
- adobe media encodersted
- really? I fkng hate media encoder, it barely works with AE. dynamic links constantly breaking but will give a bash thankswhere_am_i
- gif size is really dependent entirely on how many pixels change. If you have a lot of fields of solid color, the gif is smaller. PS isn't that bad even.monospaced
- yeah i run into the issue because of the textures over laid on the animations. Just find it so slow, like each time you make a change you sit and waitwhere_am_i
- @where_am_i yeah its really fucking surprising but it generates pretty decent animgifs relatively quickly.sted
- thanks sted, good to knowwhere_am_i
- Lose the texture and size will drop dramatically.monospaced

the Mammoth Dreamscape Soundclub stems from a couple years spent in Portland warehouses setting up different guitar rigs on asynchronous but harmonious loops. We would let that shit run for hours, filling the space with this sound that was meditative and passive but still engrossing.
I've begun doing more produced renditions, publishing the first for enjoyment today. I'm making these free because it's good meditative shit and I think people could get something out of them.
- Repetitive, but cool none the lessgrafician
- Cover artwork top too!grafician
- @graf the repetition is the point, it's dual loops to keep it technically always its own sound. it's meant for meditation and passive listeningcolin_s

Did some painting for a rap video, originally it was meant to be at an outdoor skatepark so the vibe changed a bit. You can see me in the background using my phone to reference the character I'm painting. Not my usual style of painting, but was fun enough.

New Showreel for my studio.
We do Photo+Video, Graphic Design & Writing.- Two details I think I caught. Is that Nana Visitor aka Kira Nerys from Deep Space 9 at 0:14? I also noticed glitchy "That's racist" kid towards the end.CyBrainX

Had fun with this one, more frame by frame stuff. Stephanie Gilmore the femme-goat!This was all in Animate and then AE. It was a very long one to paint!
Better quality and sound: https://www.instagram.com/p/CTnC…- Great work. I don't want to think about how much work this was.CyBrainX
- its a lot yeah but once you get into a rhythm its quite meditative. Its one of those things where you have to enjoy it. If you start trying to finish it itwhere_am_i
- becomes a super hack and gets frustrating. ohhhhmmmmmmwhere_am_i
- What part of this is Animate? I would assume from looking at this that you just rotoscoped in AE with shape layers.CyBrainX
- Very nice, muchachostoplying
- @cybrainx its all hand painted with wacom, frame by frame. ae is just for colouring and some texturewhere_am_i
- where_am_i0
@CyBrainx thought you might like to see the frames. Each of those is a layer ( wetsuit/head etc) and each dark dot a painted frame

- I don't really know Animate. I forgot how much it looks like Flash.CyBrainX
- yeah i dont know it at all, just picked it up for this stuff. PS you cant turn off specific layer onion skin which is essential so had to learn thiswhere_am_i

Finished the currentmoodgirl piece. I was really struggling to get a painterly look that I was satisfied with in Photoshop, so I moved over to Clip Studio (I've had it for yonks but never really pushed myself to use it) and after some reading, some wtf UI moments, and some brush shenanigans, it all fell together like Jerry Reed and Burt Reynolds.
- fucking great
+1Bluejam - @ face_melter this new learnsquared course looks cool regarding the painterly style: https://www.learnsqu…antimotion

- Niiice. I like the little bits of red coming through from the base layerPhanLo
- Thanks all, again. @bask - yeah, doing physical versions is the ultimate goal but I want to learn technique first so I'm comfortable throwing colour about.face_melter
- Awesome, I do lots of oil painting, but have never tried painting digitally, intrigued to see if the skills are transferable in either directionBaskerviIle
- I would imagine mixing correct colour values will be the biggest challenge. A huge amount of my painting time is spent on mixing values. No eyedroppers IRL!BaskerviIle
- @phan - cheers. the red was a happy accident. It was reds/purples where the blue is now, but it wasn't working so on a whim I inverted it and *ZANG*! Perfect.face_melter

I set up an Etsy store for fun (or pain) with some of the illustrations I've been doing. Should I order the yacht now or hang on for a bit?

- I have had no luck at all there. I sell the same thing as other that charge a considerably higher price. I get maybe one view a day. I also sell on Craigslist..lemmy_k

I hope you get a new yatch thru them. ;)lemmy_k - @lemmy_k I'm brand new but here's my 2 cents. Niche down on "barrel made". Make that the focus for your store.Centigrade
- Everything you make for this store should be related to wine barrel reclamation. If you do other types of stuff, set up a separate store.Centigrade
- Experiment with RAISING your prices. Furniture is an investment - and higher prices = quality.Centigrade
