Some personal work. My second son was born a month ago.
Saul Ray’s birth card is a 28 page magazine.
It celebrates beauty, flowers, typography and colours. It serves as an introduction to people and ideas we think will be valuable in his life.
I’ve drawn these illustrations in last months in the late hours and are references to: Basquiat, The Moonlanding, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, Keith Haring, Saul Leiter, Saul Bass, Saul Hudson (Slash), Saul Williams, Flowers, Where The Wild Things Are, ...
The cover is an abstraction of a wild sunflower that blooms in August. The colours are bright and most of the text is set in bold, colourful type. Printed on Munken Pure Rough, a nice paper with natural colouring and a tactile feel.
- Dude. Seriously. Well done and pricelessmonospaced

- Stunning. Nice one!!bogue
- Dude, thanks for making me feel like a lacklustre parent!
; )ideaist - Love it.nb
- Reminds me of the old days when a man might build his son a crib or a high chair from scratchnb
- I mean the "old days" like decades before I was born lolnb
- That's lovely.********
- This is really great! This will be cherished for a long time. and congrats on son no. 2!desmo
- Beautiful. What a great project.mg33
- That's really nice. Can I ask is this a traditional thing & what is the purpose? Is it something for your son or something that gets sent to family and friends?Wolfboy

- Quite good.
Try a version with only the horizontal line from the O to the H to make it lightergrafician - Thanks, but it's already delivered and in use :)jagara

- The crossbars "–" between the "H" and the "O" bothers me because it does not line up with the crossbars in the "A" or the "R", other than that...I like it.utopian
- Yeah, I struggled with making it work for that exact reason. The line through the O is an attempt of adding symmetry.jagara
- Quite good.

Involved in the launch of this little number...
- wow. so elegant and simple.sted

I like that it doesn't immediately show how simple the product is.sted - NiceAQUTE

@ Centigrade
May I be so rude as to ask how you get your posters printed? Presume you're using a POD supplier? Is there one you recommend?
- "Archival Quality Giclée Printers, Chatsworth, CA" I see!shapesalad
- It's Printful. I did a few tests and they delivered really rich deep colours. Plus 100% eco packaging, and locations globally to reduce my carbon footprint.Centigrade
- Ah ok.Will try them. I just tried Gelato and Prodigi, Prodigi being better.shapesalad
- @shape - you could do worse than try these guys: https://gicleemaster…Nairn

Did a tiny bit of work on this. Helped my mate paint the map on the floor so the film makers could use it to add 3d props.

Not sure where to.post this and here seems as good as any,, since it's about my recent work..
I know we have a few people from Orange County, CA and I have my first craft show in Costa Mesa on Sat October 9th. The show runs from 9am to 3pm at Peicemakers Country Store. Drop in and say hey.

- Try spending at least 45 minutesnb
- Maybe bow the legs inward and brace them a little higher up.monospaced
- Mono, it's supposed to have the shape of a barrel. I think you're right about raising the braces. They won't be used as a foot rest so it might look better andlemmy_k
- be stronger. I wish I could flatten out the hoops, I'd use those as a foot rest .lemmy_k
- Rounded corners in the seat, the piece with the hole in the center...Miesfan
- doesn‘t it need some diagonal structure reinforcement? just from the visual, i have the impression it would collapse to a side if someone sits on it.uan
- it looks properly shonky... why not make it stronger and more elegant by crossing the legs into an x?hans_glib
- Uan, it might need some reinforcement. I will figure that out once I get it closser to finished, it appears that most out there have more than what I've used.lemmy_k
- Hans, it's supposed to resemble a barrel.lemmy_k
- I think bowing them in would still retain the essence of a barrel. It might not resemble, but it would be clear what it’s source was.monospaced

I finally finished fussing with my Forest Treehouse. This was partially inspired by the Off the Grid thread. Anyone with a back yard should have a treehouse. Forester is a nice plugin but it will kill your computer if you use this many. Aside from that, I used C4D and Redshift with some GSG+ materials and HDRI. I mostly stole the fence design from the observation deck of 70 Pine Street in lower Manhattan.

Today, I deleted 24 sets from my website and it felt good (even though I had to think of Britney when she went bold).
Here's a new series I shot with Sylvia:

I was attending a birthday of a one year old and flipped through some of the children's books and thought f*ck it I can do that. So two bottles of wine later :P I had written and illustrated my first children's book. A few days later I decided to publish it and now it's for sale and selling :P. It somehow feels weird to have a book published.
You can look inside on Amazon:
- And you called it Pridey. What a mad lad!palimpsest

- awesome. looks great. how did you go about publishing it?scruffics
- What’s the print quality like from Amazon’s POD printers? I’ve seen paperbacks and it’s a cheap and bad as you imagine.shapesalad
- brilliant, well doneGardener
- Congrats! Very well done! Also interested in how the print aspect is handled / what the quality is?mantrakid
- Thanks, yeah print quality is average. But the instant global kdp network has its benefits. I wanted to try spark publishing but then you have to live in the USjasonabc

Ending this year with a holiday campaign with 3 spots. Here is the first that airs worldwide today. Starring Brett Gelman (Fleabag, Stranger Things) with a little help from Danny Elfman. A Nightmare Before Fitness indeed! Lots of jokes were had creating, shooting, and beyond. We were cry laughing on set. Enjoy! Ok, I have to go back to delivering 2 more of these.
