In my op, so far, and trying not to be biased, Portugal, Germany and Holland have shown the better football and were the best teams. All wins so far seem pretty justified.
1. Portugal played beautiful flowing football, intense and have a powerful inventive mid-field and a solid defence. Forwards looked jumpy and very perilous but they weren't so effective. In terms of aesthetics, I think Portugal played the better football so far, especially because attack is driven by mid-fielders, which is always great;
2. Germany played terribly effective football, and they look powerful (also have the youngest team). Midfield is not so great but defence is solid and forwards are very very strong. Podolski is a top player, probably at the same explosive scale as Ronaldo. I think Germany looks as the strongest team so far.
3. Holland played wonderfully and had an impressive gain over the field. Although this has been the best game so far, I can't help thinking Holland midfield looked clumsy sometimes. That tall slow black guy from defence was playing midfield and forward in the last 20 minutes.
I would say that Germany looks the strongest team so far.
Let's see what Spain and Greece do tomorrow.
- Also, Italy (didn't play well today, that's a fact) is Italy. They'll qualify.Corvo
