Well AquaFina and Dasani both taste like tap water too. I buy Amaro or Labrador. Alot of people can't taste the difference between good quality meat and supermarket lousy meat either~ I know when I meet my family at a restaurant they prefer food that tastes like Provigo.
- Naya doesn't taste great either.Redmond
- dasani is just treated tap water.. there was a whole news outrage about it a couple of years ago...indian_pole

Yes, writing
"BRITA products have no effect on the fluoride content of water."
instead of
"our products don't filter fluoride out of water"
is bullshitting to me, presenting a failure as a virtue.

PR bullshit?
Reads more like an informative summary on the pros and cons of fluoride and an honest remark on the effects of Brita on fluoride levels; Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper....

What a pile of pr bullshit. They first say adding fluoride to water is controversial, then end it with:
"BRITA products have no effect on the fluoride content of water.", presenting the failure to remove fluoride as something good in a filter.

The tap I get from Yosemite doesn't need a filter...it's good without one.
Yet the tap out of my fridge tastes worse.

Fuck bottled water, just get a Brita. Job done.

it takes 3 litres of water to produce 1 litre of bottled water.

Some highlights:
• $15 billion was spent on bottled water in 2006
• We drink a billion bottles of water every week
• 1 in 6 people in the world have no dependable, safe drinking water
• The entire bottled-water business today is half the size of the carbonated beverage industry yet there marketing budget is only 15% of what the carbonated beverage industry spends.
• San Francisco’s municipal water comes from Yosemite National Park. If you bought and drank a bottle of Evian, you could refill that bottle for once a day for 10 years, 5 months, and 21 days with San Francisco tap water before that water would cost $1.35 (the cost of the Evian). Put another way, if the water we use at home cost what even cheap bottled water costs, our monthly water bills would run $9,000.
• Aquafina (Pepsi) and Dasani (Coke) make up about 24% of the bottled water market. Both are simply purified municipal water.
• American’s went through about 50 billion plastic water bottles last year. Made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, water bottles are totally recyclable. Our current recycling rate for PET is only 23%, which means we pitch 38 billion water bottles every year into landfills (more than $1 billion worth of plastic).- The FastCompany article is a bit old but still an interesting read about bottled water.nearestexit

I buy bottled water and I hate doing it as it produces huge amounts of garbage as plastic bottles and costs me dearly. I'll keep doing it until I know they stopped tap water fluoridation.
I just read they did stop it in many European countries (including Belgium, Tank).http://www.jonbarron.org/baselin…
