i can appreciate tattoos if they're nicely crafted, but i've rarely heard of someone getting one for a deeper reason than "it looks cool". which to me is a bit of a dumb reason to get one.

Maybe not unintelligent but just lacking the confidence, creativity, or education to express themselves and what they stand for. It's a very primal, visual way to 'show' people who you really are.
