In any other time, an ex head of the FBI accusing the current President of being a liar and standover man would be rather serious...but these days it's seen as a major victory for the President & his cronies due to the fact there didn't appear to be any 'smoking gun'.
Sadly for Trump, this hearing didn't address directly the actual investigation that continues by the Special Prosecutor.

It doesnt even matter how this investigation ends. It has casted such a cloud over this administration, and Trump is even more hated than ever, because he is in charge, and its been nothing but scandals, whining on twitter, and golfing since day 1.
The first year is every new presidents time to get things done as far as their legislative agenda, because after that they are back in campaign mode, and dealing with other issues in the country and around the world.
Trump has not actually passed one single thing yet. By this point in Obama's presidency he had passed a lot because there were no scandals, hence his nickname No Drama Obama. FDR passed 76 pieces of legislation in his first 4 months. Busy guy, got a lot done. Trump? Nothing actually done. Lots of things started, everything stalled.
If Trump was smart, he would have NEVER commented on any of this. Just kept his head underwater and kept moving on like nothing was going on. But hes such a child he's actually perpetuated so much that has gone wrong. When Obama has anything come up, he just kept on working. Rarely addressed it. Thats important for a president because they dont have a lot of time.
Trump will never recover from this no matter where it ends up.
