Ted Cruz announcing he and 11 Trump Senate loyalists will object to the congressional certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory on the 6th only to have The Washington Post release audio of President Trump suggesting the Georgia Secretary of State commit election fraud and "find 11,780 votes" for him has to rank up there in great political blunders...
Right up there with the time Sheldon Adelson locked him out of his donor suite at the 2016 RNC.
Poor Rafael "Ted" Cruz... His brazen attempt to court the Trump faithful blows up in his face yet again as his once meaningless objection to the Senate certification of Biden's victory now looks like coordinated support of destabilizing a free and fair election.
Now he has to answer awkward questions about what the President meant by "find 11,780 votes" or why is the President even calling the Secretary of State nearly a month after they have certified their election.

After being pressured and having his 'friendship' freshly threatened by his bro, this guy has an amazing chance to just play it cool and finally stand up to him in the final moment w/ all eyes watching.
By that I mean just casually accept the ec votes like no big deal dude, confirm Biden w/o comment, hammer the stake in all of it, moonwalk out.
- he‘s a dog. he needs a master.dasohr
- right, but if he’s really eyeballing 2024, and considering nothing presidential has occurred in recent memory, he has last chance to power move on emprophetone
- it’s perfect as he can just drop the mic and move on...prophetone
- He's a politician, not a Christian. If he wants any success, he won't alienate everyone who would vote for him.********
- I think you’re giving that base too much credit. In 4 years if he runs no one will remember enough to chance revoting Biden in. Pencey will have that base.prophetone
- He gets the final word here which has his boss flipping through hoops - hopefully he gets some guts in the next 24 hrsprophetone
- I don't think it helps him in 2024. I agree he will approve the vote, but Trump put him in a no win situation.yuekit
- Stop normalising Pence. People here think Don is bad because he's uncouth and stopped them from going to brunch. Pence is a rightwing maniac.face_melter
- He has actual evangelical backing and support and his policies and beliefs are way more insidious and evil than Trump could imagine. But sure, Orange Man Bad.face_melter

Interesting that Raphael Warnock was senior pastor at same church MLK preached at. That's a fitting end to a year that was dominated by all these racial protests.
For all the criticism BLM got as crazy and extreme, the truth is that if it wasn't for black voters and activists, Donald Trump would still be president and Republicans would still control the Senate.
- in my mind, protesting against racial inequality and suppression is anything but crazy or extreme :)monospaced
- BLM got criticism from definitively racist people.CyBrainX
