- This looks like some 3.5 hour long movie I would watch over and over.Cosmodrome
- Everest?garbage
- You all too kind, thank you. Everest, I wish bubba. Sadly just a typical mountain range up in AK.thenohero
- Gorgeous!milfhunter
- Where is AK? Alaska?milfhunter
- Nice pics but who are you? Never seen you around here.NBQ00
- A bit over processed for my taste which makes them almost look like AI.mort_
- AK = Arkansas lolRamanisky2
- Ha, I thought you found some weird angle on Everest. They're really greedy with the access permits on the south rim.garbage
- 1 looks like most of the regrowth on forestry roads surrounding it.garbage
- @milfhunter yes
@garbage Indeed, access road on backside, good eye.
@mort_ I do abuse color for emotion, no ai
@NBQ00 I am just a lurkerthenohero - lovely stuff <3PonyBoy
- Ver niceJosev
- These are beautiful, but more so because you shot ghem. Ie there’s a story behind them, we can feel the cold in some, smell the morning air in others_niko
- Wonder how you travelled there and with who. What adventure were you on when you shot them? All of this adds to the wonder and excitement of these._niko
- Now these could also be ai. Something a machine spat out in a nanosecond but it loses all the humanity and soul of a real photo._niko
- @_niko you nailed it. Chasing light currently starts at 3:30AM for me. Golden ends for me at 11PM+ It's just doggie and me, plus an insanely beautiful worldthenohero
- for the hard critics ... LR output file - 14mm - f/4 - 25seconds + ND10000 on z9 https://www.thenoher…thenohero
- great light and edits too!HijoDMaite
- fuuuuuuuuuck
this is really good >:(pango - @lol why did I actually type "Everest" twice up there? I meant Mt. St Helens flol.garbage

- Great shots. Are you using an IR sensitive camera?futurefood
- @futurefood Hoya IR R72 (720nm) filter. I also use a ND100000 (16.5 stops); can take a 5 minute exposure in pure daylight. it's wack.thenohero
- ^dope!futurefood
- StunningMrT
- That's hilarious and my guess was close. I only use a black diffusion filter, and I tend to shoot more frenetically, but have been thinking about..garbage
- ..stacking an IR filter. Pic 3 tipped me off.garbage
- https://vimeo.com/67…garbage
- I wanted to convert my old camera into an IR one, just for the fun of it. There are tutorials on YouTube on how to do it.SimonFFM
- Very nice pics! <3OBBTKN
- @simon From what I understand, a sensor conversion is exactly the same as an IR filter. The filter is just.. non-destructive.garbage
- crazy shotsmilfhunter
- @garbage Converted sensors are generally more sensitive to IR light since the IR cut filter is removed from directly in front of the sensor.SimonFFM
- Filter sounds like a better idea, indeed!SimonFFM
- Cheers! The big difference between filter and in-camera is shooting speeds. With the filter, you are pretty much committed to long exposure and a tripod.thenohero
- Challenging, yet rewarding. Getting the color temp is critical, recommend ice blue. Understanding you are capturing bouncing/absorbing UV light of organics.thenohero
- The most important step if you are interested in IR work ... https://www.youtube.…thenohero
- Wait, I thought you said some of these were 5 min?garbage
- not in this batch, longest is 90 seconds (2nd photo). here is a wip 5'er - http://www.thenohero…thenohero
- That's a great shot. Rainier, right?garbage
- very similar, Mt. Shastathenohero
- Oh nice, I see it now. Rainier's slightly smaller brother. The prominence of both of them is staggering. Same with Hood. Gotta love our volcanoes.garbage

The International Photography Awards just announced the winners for this year's competition, and I'm happy to see that I placed 2nd in the Architecture category, advancing from previous years' Shortlisted and Honorable Mention. It feels kind of fun since the category is mostly digital, B&W, ND filters with long shutter speed, and I shot film on an old medium format camera from the late 70s.
I enter one or two competitions a year even though I don't really think you can compete like this in photography. I rarely enter with the photos I'm most happy with and usually take but instead try and come up with ideas that work in these type of events. But still in my kind of style. I see it more as a fun project for an image or two you could say.
So this is my winning entry: Solna Centrum subway station, shot on a Mamiya 645 1000s with a Mamiya Sekor C 80mm f/2.8 lens and Kodak Portra 160 film.
- Just take the win.palimpsest
- Haha, second place isn't a win though...haga
- We've found the root of the problem.palimpsest
- Congrats on the super photo!thenohero

- Spectacular, congratsBuddhaHat
- Kodak porta has been kind to me over the years. I woulda cropped this in a bit, fwiw, but if u won hey that's what counts. Congrats.cherub
- cherub, yeah don't really agree with the crop. I do feel it's a little bottom heavy though. And maybe a little too aligned to the right.haga
- If I did do it again I would have taken another shot closer, lower and with a wider lens. Just to have another compostion to chose from.haga
- Hmmm, maybe you're right. I should have cropped a little to the left and some of the top.haga
- got mugged there onceArchitectofFate
- sick!milfhunter
- I grew up there, could have been me.haga
- Just kidding!haga
- ^lol haga. you seem to know too much to be an innocent bystander.. XDfuturefood
- @haga: yea the left vertical sliver adds little, and the top contains almost no data(black). lopping a bit off the top might help a bit.cherub
- because keep in mind in this day and age mobile is a thing. Having that center be larger and in your face is a good thing. Its quite strong.cherub
- milfhunter14
- Looks great!
I love hiking in the fog.palimpsest - but did you find any milfs?dee-dubs

My long-running photo site crashed at some point months ago; it was the last theme-based site I had that I hadn't redesigned and rebuilt in WP with Oxygen Builder. Powered through it in the past week, I've got a few new things to update like card rollovers in the landing pages, but glad it's not a dead url.

- Beautiful work. what gear again?HijoDMaite
- I sold a kidney, and went all-in with a Z 9 with some supporting cast, I am mean glass. They took the non-stone kidney.thenohero
- nice. debating on getting the 24-120 f4 or the 24-70 f2.8 thinking the f4 is all I need but I hate the protruding focus.HijoDMaite
- I also love internal zoom, yet that 24-120 f/4 is an all day & all travel lens, and epic at that. You will own it one way or another.thenohero
- the 24-70 f/2.8 is just going to drive nuts until you complete the trifecta with the 14-24mm 2.8 & 70-200mm 2.8. Devil's grass.thenohero
