It's OK, you can get good deals sometimes, not sure about their future because of CraigsList. I don't like the web interface, but I do like the Adobe AIR app interface.

it means a pain in the ass unless you do "buy it now"

Actually, I need to get some opinions about what the company means to other people first, before I can do anything else (apparently).
Thanks.
- < according to my profJaline
- And thought QBN would be a good place to ask.Jaline
- i thought you graduated already!Antonelli
- I did. I'm in college now to focus more on programming (with design)Jaline
- oh, so that graduation was high school.Antonelli
- nicearmsbottomer
- nice @ jaline going to college to study programming + design, not for graduating high school (although congrats on that too)armsbottomer
- No, I graduated from university. I wanted to finish a degree first before studying other things :)Jaline
- University and college are two different things in Canada. University = more theoretical.
College = more hands-on.Jaline - Canadia colleges are confusing. what was your degree in??Antonelli
- Arts. Double major in Mass Communication and English. Basically Media Studies.Jaline

I recently discovered it ranked third most visited website in the world, behind Google, in second place, and Yahoo in first.
That took me by surprise, but that's what the stats indicate.
I seriously haven't ever used ebay, but my impression of it... my personal idea of its brand personality is that if it was a person, it would be 'helping the police with their enquiries'.
'Buyer beware' also springs to mind.

means nothing to me. i've never used it except to see how much some of my old basketball cards were going for.

It means two things.
1. Most things for sale are either junk, scams or second hand but end up costing than you can buy new.
2. Selling stuff, particularly electrical items is nearly impossible due to scammers.

According to Alexa:

Ebay used to be good, you used to be able to get a deal on things. Or make an honest profit on an item.
Now every one does a buy it now, or sells the item for a low price then jacks up the item with shipping/handling fees.
Someone needs to remake ebay.

It reminds me of pop-culture-ish news stories about people trying to sell odd things like their virginity, a wwii battleship or the like...
... it reminds me of everyday folks who hate their jobs and are bored with life who need annoying hobbies / time-killers in their lives before they goto bed.

eBay is ace, and my new house would be seriously low on furniture without it. So there.
