engraving makes a weird crushed impression on reverse side, no? so one sided might be better if engraving?
- yeah thats why I would prefer the hot foil thing....moamoa

What moamoa said...
Two sided is much better... Especially with the impact of that black...

engraving has more fine detail than hot foil, yes?

You know gramme, this thread could continue to eternity.

what moamoa said, also i would not bold the title(designer), it's not as important as your name, i know you want to keep that line as same weight...

NotByHand:
1. There's no physical address because the last time I printed business cards, I moved less than a year later and my cards immediately became irrelevant. Don't want to get into the same predicament again. If I get another FT job rather than making Metagramme a viable business, I won't use many of these. I'll want to use them for a long time, regardless of where I live.
2. has been my email address for 3 years. I'm kinda stuck with it.

well if I do two-sided, I'll have an engraved silver logotype on one side, and litho silver contact info on the reverse. Anyone think that would be odd? It would mean less sheen for the litho side. Whatever I do, I want to use engraving. My letterhead will be engraved 1C, no litho. I like how you can really feel the edges of letters, more than with foil which feels a bit like letterpressed type.
- if I was engraving I'd do one side, but that's just memagnificent_ruin
- I'll take that advice, Rand.gramme

It's decided. Thanks all for the advice, good and bad. I had sent art to the printer Friday afternoon, I'm really hoping they hadn't started making the proofs or God forbid, cutting the engraving dies. In my haste, I don't think I spent enough time fiddling with the details. I just sent off the revised BC & letterheads (had to match the letterhead typography to the new BC.
Stay tuned!

Wait. What kind of email are you supposed to have then? Something more personal?

so did you get these back from the printer yet? pix, or you know...
- Scotch_Roman0
Yes, I did! They look swayt, as the old ladies in Georgia say. Letterhead too. I need to print envelopes, but need more work before I can do that :P. My photographer buddy helped me shoot some more work for my site the other day. Will postum here soon.

really nice gramme! very glad you went with standard card proportions and one typeface... looks dope..
- Thx :) Alas, they are actually A4 size scaled down... isn't that a fairly standard European size though?Scotch_Roman
