elee... did you just log in 40+ km at once? Don't remember seeing you had any runs logged it before today. I might be wrong... sorry if I am.
we all kinda agreed to log in each run individually and not in several at once coz it wouldn't be fair to the rest.
:o)

Sorry Vector, I'm still new to the QBN challenge world. I saw the thread this weekend and joined the group, and it automatically logged my hours from earlier this month. If this severely pisses you off, I can withdraw for fairness sake.
But I still want that trophy.

I believe the fat guy on the bus is from the show Trailer Park Boys. sweeeeeet.

elee,
No no problem. Doesn't bother me. Welcome. It simply was like "woah, who's elee and where'd he come from?!". Good thing is that you joined early. If it had been after the 3rd week then the effort of some could have been nothing since people's performance is based on what the competitors do. We do however have something of a rule... that if somebody will be unable at some point to log in miles due to being on vacation or away for various days... that we should let people know that so there's no suprises. Wasn't trying to come across as an ass, so don't take it bad.
Again, welcome and good luck.
And no... sorry... It's me the one that will get the trophy ;o)

oh noes noes noes!!
One of my toes is killing me. Middle one from the left foot.
So two days ago I did 2 session in one day... was like 13km or something... hadn't run since march 10... so 13km while trying to get in shape might not be a great idea. It felt good anyways but the legs (mostly the shins) almost gave up on me. Yesterday I forced myself to run despite still feeling a little tiredness in my legs. Did 6km, but by the 2nd k I was already feeling very weak legs and discomfort in the shins and thighs. It was awful..., and so an hour later while resting and when the discomfort in the legs started to go away slightly, I started noticing quite a bit of pain in a toe. Didn't pay much attention to it. Today morning was still a little painful and felt the discomfort all day long every time I stepped on my left foot. Like if I had broken a nail or something and the annoying discomfort wouldn't go away.
And so just now I got home and checked my foot and the toe is swollen. Nail's fine. The pain does seem to be internal and I seem to have trouble moving that toe. It also feels a little numb. I feel the problem might be the first joint from the tip. Good thing I don't see anyHope it's not broken or even sprained.
anybody here ever sprained a toe while running?
I have broken a couple of toes before but only in collisions while playing contact sports.
:o( Will give it a little time and see how it feels.
congrats meeklo, you'll get your new winner this time ;o)
- "Good thing I don't see any bruises."VectorMasked
- Hey VM, You could of bruised the cartlidge in you joint. it took my toe 2.5 years to feel normal after a whack from a hockey ballDancer
- flutter0
Vector - try duct taping your toe. Its good to keep from getting blisters and for sprains. Hey guys I'm so glad this is back on. I've been recovering from the marathon but am ready to hit the pavement. I'm gonna have to put in some long runs to catch up with you though. Glad to see new peeps, looks like a strong group this challenge!
- VectorMasked0
Will do flutter.
Was thinking in doing it since it's also done as a home remedy for fractures in the toes. Looks kinda bad though. I think I will not be able to run again soon :o(- last time this happened I ended up with a cast. will wait this time coz I don't wanna pay for docs right now.VectorMasked
- oo don't do that!flutter
- Dancer0
BTW flutter, I tried to email you (about the new Challenge) and it bounced... did not know if you were aware
- flutter0
that's weird. the email is correct in my profile, crazy interweb. I have had issues with blocks of IPs not being able to mail me before though. You can always ping me on twitter @flutter
- Meeklo0
pathetic of me..
I think I only logged 3 runs so far, one of them this morning.glad to see more people running though
- Dancer0
Fuckin' Whyte39, I was getting close and then you go and but 50k on me.
I was gonna go out tonight but it's currently pissing down with rain. I may have to get up early tomorrow. Gotta love the British Weather!
:/
- flutter0
first knee injury every. this sucks. I blew it out at the marathon and took 3 weeks off. Tried running again today and now it hurts again. Where is the body parts exchange depot?
- gettin old flutter?Dancer
- that sucks. rest a lil.VectorMasked
- VectorMasked0
good news... at least for me...
I am no longer needing the cloth tape. Feet feels better. Couldn't walk the first week and it was still bugging me 2 days ago, but it feels ok now. Good 13 days of rest.
Just adventured to go out to run and did good. Slow pace, but no discomfort whatsoever.
:o)
Hope I finish in the first page. 5th if my goal!
- Dancer0
Inaccuracies.
For the last km of my last run I really picked up the pace. You can see exactly where I changed pace but the pace dropped down.... My theory is that the Sensor and Sportband measure when your foot and arm move apart. One would assume that to run faster you speed the foot pace up but alot of my speed comes from lengthening the stride this is where the sensor thinks I have slowed down.Another way of testing this is to run up hill (short strides), and then down hill (longer strides). Downhill you would assume the pace on the chart (on the nike plus website) to pick up. In fact it does the opposite.
Anyone else notice this?
....do I make any sense?
- yeah... sorta... I get huge drops in every run...as bad as half of my speed and it sometimes stays like that for 2 mins...VectorMasked
- I really don't know why it happens when there's no change in surface speed or stride.VectorMasked
