Heavyweights season - so how will Kimbo do?
http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=…
- dconstrukt0
dunno.... i think he'll do ok.... i think he's on rashads team..
i gotta root for the hometown guy (im in miami)

Kimbo will do well, but i doubt hell win it. It might allow him to get his foot in the door, and get a couple bouts in the octagon, though.
Im kinda curious to see how the ex NFL players will do.
and im SUPER psyched to see rashad v rampage.
It starts tonight, right?

Think he'll do well actually. He's got the stand up game down, has a pretty good chin. Just needs to work on his ground game and defense and he'll be golden. He has hands on steel, heart, and determination. I think he's the one guy who could knock out Lesner (once he figures out the rest obviously).
- Fedor?kuttyranks
- Not Fedor though. He's the fucking man. Now when will he be in the Octogon?fyoucher1
- he signed with strikeforce instead of ufc.... dumb movedconstrukt
- yeah, fedor promotes himself. He wanted to retain promotion rights that the ufc wont give him. sucks, cause nobody else has the heavyweights.baseline_shift
- has the heavyweightsbaseline_shift
- he's an idiot for that.. ufc is the way to godconstrukt

Rashad / Rampage can cancelled
Apparently Rampage is set to play BA Baracus in the A-Team movie, which is an amazing casting if you ask me

I'm actually afraid Kimbo will one day kill someone, he's ruthless.
- i'm safe.... he wont mess with his hometown :-)dconstrukt

kimbo is all heart. heard he turned down crazy offers overseas to get his chance with ufc.
i agree with the lot. hope he does well. i think even if he doesn't win, dana knows he's a got a star in the making.

Looks intriguing. Maybe I'll start watching again...

I'm hesitant about this season to be honest. Heavyweights have always made for the most boring TUF seasons -- remember season 2? Next to the comeback season, that one was one of my least favorite to watch (even though it produced Joe Stevenson).
The fact that they're padding the roster with ex NFL players and such also worries me. Are they feeding cans to Kimbo to prop him up? Seems so. Again, reminiscent of season, with fighters like Brad Imes -- who eventually have gone on to be fairly decent fighters -- but at the time made for lackluster matchups.

OK..I'm psyched...

I remember one episode where the guys pee'd in the other team's fruits. They retaliated by shooting in one of the fruit salad, and some guy ate it.
- its too bad this is the kinda thing that gets remembered, srslybaseline_shift
- yes, they're otherwise so classy on the show...

Is the format where they have to fight their way into the TUF house still in effect?
- dconstrukt0
no ones going to do shit like that to kimbo.... he's f them up.

He is 36 ish years old and he will not go far in the UFC, I will be very very suspect if he wins this, either way Dana needs him in the UFC as he is a potential crowd puller. He is slow old and can't see a truck coming from 10 feet away. Imagine him against any average heavyweight in the UFC now... MIr would tan his ass, brock no contest, minatoro easy christ even homeboy heath herring would drop his ass like a bad bean pie yo!.
- You have a good point there, 35 is not the same as fighting someone in their twentiesceiling_cat
- yeah, too old to go far.baseline_shift
- couture did it so it's possiblekeiTai
- But coutoure was a bit of a freak with the work ethic of a Clydsedale on methTheBlueOne
- ... or a Clydesdale on GH and TestPoint5
- so you're saying age doesn't have anything to do with it then... loldconstrukt

kimbo will get tooled on the ground.
Kimbo hits hard that's about it and that's with his hands and against an aggresive opponent. Just stay calm
- fyoucher10
Fedor is 32.
Couture is 46 and can still whip ass (even tho the monster beat him)
Anderson Silva 34 years old. Some older fighters past their 20's who are still great if not still the best.....
- yeah, but they have ass loads of experience. Kimbo was a street fighter till a few years ago.baseline_shift
- Knockout power is a gift. All the rest can be learned. Not saying he'll be the best ever but he does have a chance to win.fyoucher1

Couture is not a good fighter anymore and his record is fucking shite, also he was given title shots left right and center after losing streaks and very few fights in the UFC. He is an inspiration in many respects but not as good as you think.
- true, truekeiTai
- definately, padded record tae fuckkuttyranks
- maybe nae even padded, just shitekuttyranks

Well that was a crappy first fight..both guys were scrubs covered in weak sauce. And that was a punk ass move the cat did at the start of the second round..made like he was going to tap gloves and then went in for the takedown. Bit of a dick move, but the guy trains with Matt Hughes, so I guess that goes with the territory.
