Love mine, still using the first gen version. I love the photo galleries and use it to show clients our videos/animations (the response is quite impressive).
ATT's reception has sucked lately, although I didn't have many problems with them in the last few years.
- I just upgraded from that to the 3GS... man what a differenceimnotadesigner

Your profile says you're in Ireland. I had an iPhone that I brought to Ireland a couple years ago and the service was 5 bars solid everywhere we went (all around the southern coast then Galway to Dublin). So service shouldn't be an issue.
As for the device, I had an iPhone, switched to Android, used a Palm Pre for a while, and my fiance has a Blackberry and comparing them all I prefer the iPhone although Android is starting to take off (in the US anyway).
I say if you've liked what you've seen you should have no problem making the leap. If this review helps ship me over a case of Koppaberg, I've missed it ever since I left . . .

I must admit I never have any of the 'no network' problem at all. I wasn't fussed about getting one but now I do, I can't imagine using any other phone.

I still have the old, aluminum one. The differences are negligible for me (mms, gps, 3G, video – I don't need them) and don't justify the price.
The plastic back on the new ones looks so cheap and prone to scratches that a 3rd party case is a must.The old one is easier to jailbreak too. Jailbreaking gives me:
— iFile (an advanced file browser/editor and multi-format video viewer);
— Text message receipts (hard to believe, iPhone doesn't have them);
— SMS counter (counts text message characters, good for keeping it short when abroad);
— Backgrounder (lets you run apps in background, parallel with each other).

Get one! I can't think of any negative points. The reception is good in the UK. I love mine.... Rockband makes my friends jealous. (jk)

its brilliant.
I have a bberry and an iphone, and the iphoneworks sooooo well. As a phone it drops out now and again, but as an integrated device it works. bbc iplayer works on it, read all my newspapers on it, itunes etc etc etc
supreme, and anyone who doesnt think so is a dick or a pc user which accounts to about the same thing.
- ha ha ha these are the reviews I like. 'I've got one and it's rad if you dinae like it you are a bogan'chossy

theyre great but fatally flawed. the ui and app market is amazing, but for some really basic functionality its just not there.

- What basic functionality is not there?, enlighten uscomicsans

get one. its not the greatest thing in the world, but it is the better than any other phone... i love it.
ive used the droid. usability is clunky and sub-standard, handset is ugly and bulky, software is powerful but more/better apps available on iphone.
service on iphone is more to do with your carrier. in australia, anyway.

You are not allowed to buy one until you write a poem that changes the world.
