Storyline has been seen before, as people have mentioned (reminded me of A Man Called Horse). However from the moment it started ( I watched on Imax 3d) I was immersed and it looked like nothing I'd ever seen before. Had a kind of child-like wonder to it that is totally spellbinding. Absolutely phenomenal experience (As much an experience as a movie - loved the fact that it wasn't cheap 3d where everything looked like cardboard cut-outs at dfferent distances, but looked genuinely 3d with depth).

I wouldn't watch it without the 3d, but definately worth watching with.
- Yeah, not sure it works without the 3d experiencebabaganush

saw it yesterday...the 3D Imax experience was awesome!

yep I was converted within 5 mins - amazing 3D, good story, lame looking aliens quickly become quite normal and effective.
Slightly too long (had an achey bottom) but highly recommend it.

Had fantasies of being ravished by a tall, blue amazonian woman the night after.
3 throbbing thumbs up.

If I had to pick anything to complain about, the story wasnt all that riveting. It was just okay. And the guy that played the main avatar, he's a bit of a dead duck actor. I saw him in Terminator Salvation and he was dull in that too. They really could have used someone with a little more personality.
But as far as visuals, it's unmatched, especially in 3D. I kept the glasses, I wonder if they will work with the bluray?
- gud luk with thatSlashPeckham
- No I mean if the bluray has both regular and 3d options. Why wouldnt it work?CygnusZero4
- it wont work with bluray unless you have the traditional 3d glasses. afaik tvs dont support the polarisation methodephix

When you can get a sci fi movie to be one of, if not the biggest movie of all time, you've done something right. Say what you want about James Cameron, the guy knows what he's doing.

Saw the Sat morning show, paid $6, and sat in a theater with 8 other people. I was really impressed with the visuals and overall production. See it.
I take pride in thinking I can figure out what they did for some of the effects, but I was really clueless on alot.

Really enjoyed the experience - but needs to be viewed on the big screen in 3-D.
Unobtainium? C'mon - about the most predictable name ever. I laughed when I first heard the name.
A war to obtain the unobtainium..... Hmm, how's this going to end?
- "unobtanium" is a long standing sci-fi in joke. Seems a bit too out in the open though, for sure.harlequino
