You really think this will amount to anything?
Surely it's just a buzzword that all the game servers have to run on Microsoft Azure

I don't think I've ever bought a console at launch and I'm too old and subtracted from computer gamery to start doing so, but I can foresee a PS4 purchase at some point in my not-too future.
Feels (ie. I've been well marketed-to) like they've really gone back to their roots and plugged into gaming proper. A sexy wee machine which looks like it could give a half-decent PC gaming rig a run for its money too.
MS's offering feels like a money-grabbing, branded generic entertainment system which happens to be ok at playing games too. Sad, really - the first couple of XBoxes were actually quite engaging machines.

Want the PS4 but didn't pre-order one.
I'll probably get one relatively soon if they're not too hard to find.I'd like to get an XBO for certain games.
However, a few too many RRoDs on the 360 made me jump onto the Sony bandwagon a couple years back.- Ill probably grab a PS4, but I'm in no rush.desmo
- i am second phase pre-order and have been told i will possibly have to wait a week.cruddlebub

Gears of War for XBOX One, though!
- i_monk0
Why would you buy at launch? Let other people deal with the frustration of faulty hardware, overloaded servers, etc.

@desmo
"I'd love to have that conversation. I do talk to the Epic guys often. They're also busy right now. I think they've said Gears is kind of on the back burner for them"

CliffyB also left Epic, and he was basically the man behind Gears.

Xbox One resolution issues not a factor of being underpowered compared to PS4, more an issue with sharing resources with Kinnect. Well planned MS.
- ernexbcn0
- MS chose DDR3 memory compensated with 32MB of eSRAMernexbcn
- That eSRAM took space from the APU that Sony used for more GPU coresernexbcn
- Sony went with GDDR5 memory which is more expensive than DDR3 and has more bandwidthernexbcn
- Never said it wasn't. But the issue seems more the 10% taken up right off the bat.ETM
- The hardware for the One should handle these launch titles, that are barely next gen yet, regardless.ETM
- And Kinnect or not, if it can't be solved thought optimization, then it's failure or hardware revision.ETM
- Needs a "Number of Fans" cell hahaanimatedgif

As far as I know, nobody has used GDDR5 for anything other than GPUs and graphics cards. So as total system memory, how it works out could be problematic or epic. Hopefully the later. The cell processor for PS3 was combining processing power (breaking down cpu/gpu walls) in ways not done before and that ended up not being taken advantage of by 95% of titles.
- But regardless, unless MS can fix this Kinnect issue with software, they are behind in two ways.ETM
- Lower specs and already hobbled with only 90% gpu availability.ETM
- To add though, MS's memory choice is better suited to their all in one entertainment play, while Sony clearly is staying in the dedicated gaming category.ETM
- the dedicated gamer space. GDDR5 is way faster, but latency is not always best for apps and the like.ETM
- I think this will matter shit in the end, if they have good exclusives it will be a console worth gettingernexbcn

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)
Even with the frame drops the game looks fun.

- 1:55 clips into forklift then straight after that truck disappears on camera. Very shitty codinganimatedgif
