REWIND // Rodney Mullen / Plan B
Hi Folks !
Last summer Rodney Mullen came to Biarritz for the international skateboard festival, we had the opportunity to have an interview with a little concept we had in mind a while ago; showing them an old school skateboard object to find out which kind of stories they have related to it, this one brings us back to the early 90's plan B period with a reedition of the famous Mike Carroll / Plan B / never trend. stay tuned for the next one and enjoy !

I've probably told this story before...
When I was in college in Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, we used to go to this skatepark in Kennedale all the time. Zoo York were doing a tour so we were definitely out there for that. Their van showed up and Harold got out in the stiffest denim jeans I'd ever seen. Way before selvedge denim was a thing. No boxers or underwear. No shirt.And he skated his ass off. I remember these little kids, maybe junior high or a bit younger being baffled by all of it. I'd seen him in videos plenty, and probably in Grand Royal magazine, and in Big Brother. Constantly he was having to pull these jeans up, most of the time his ass crack totally exposed.
It was pretty cool though that they weren't doing a proper demo and were kind of just skating around with everyone else. I miss those days.

Awesome - my mom found some old photos and brought them with when visiting us in Chicago this weekend. This gem was one of them. That was Christmas in 4th grade, maybe 88. I was still going to a private Lutheran school, and I remember we were able to bring in one thing we got for Christmas for show and tell. I brought the board in, and it may have been the first time I realized I had a conscience; the juxtaposition of a devilish dragon in a church school classroom.
Every one of my cousins and I got a Coke sweatshirt from our grandparents that year.
I remember hating those trucks. They had the copers attached and were nearly impossible to take off.
