I'd be there until my face melted off if it meant possibly saving a loved one.
- +1Peter
- radiation won't make your face melt, it would probably make you really really sick. I'm sure those inside are well protected.dorf
- LOL at taking the face melting literally.ETM
- Also Dorf, they have already confirmed that several workers have had enough exposure to dramatically increase chances of cancer later in life.ETM
- of cancer and other issues later on life.ETM

Liquidators (Russian: ликвида́торы) is the name given in the former USSR to approximately 800,000 people who were in charge of the removal of the consequences of the April 26, 1986 Chernobyl disaster on the site of the event. Many of them died because they were exposed to a very high level of radiations.

crazy shit ^^
without the Liquidators, everything would have been way more bad. French even sent robots that stop functioning right away because of the radiatios! But they were unaware of the risks. Today its different, no one would like to go over there... Who would risk is life?

Regarding the plant, is the demineralized water radioactive or not? It doesn't say. Plus it says the plant has been in in "voluntary lay-up" since 1997, so what is the story??
- we are all going to diebenfal99
- ...and benny never knew the love of Scarlett before the end.ETM
- It would be my guess that the water they are dumping on the reactors IS radioactive now...ghandolf
- ...and will have to be 'cleaned up' (in barrels that are later buried).ghandolf
- This comment in regarding the Toronto plant, not the Japanese one. Read above.ETM

And back in Japan:
A heroic crew of up to 180 people are back in the plant once again to fend off the meltdown.
